Michigan, there are two models up for this listing the first is the No. 57 in a burgundy color shows visible wear to the color spool turns, needs cleaning and new line, believe it is stuck) the other is model 87 in a medium brown color also shows visible wear to the exterior metal spins nicely, also could use new line and cleaning, The reels measure 3" in diameter and are 2" and 1.75" in thickness. For sale is a very nice vintage Heddon No. 10 Automatic Fly Reel with its Original Box and a Complete Set of Instructions. Schematics and Parts for this Reel and for all Heddon Reels made during this period. This reel is in very good condition and appears to be little used and well taken care of. I’m not sure if its new. But it still has an inspection tag attached to the reel. Unusual for automatic reels from this period. The spring is still in very strong condition. The reel has one small dent in the dark green side plate but is otherwise in excellent condition. The dark green and light green colors on the reel aren’t faded. The box is in very good to excellent condition. The paper insert with instruction and parts folder is very unusual in that it not only contains instructions for using the reel but also a schematic for each reel Heddon ... morewas selling at the time and the parts and part numbers for each reel. Folks you are bidding on a fine vintage antique model# 5 Heddon fly reel. what the number five means is it is a 5 weight real made for a 5 weight rod. Automatic reel system works well. There is no sign of rusk anywhere. There are no loose parts. The reel is fully usable and even know it is old it works like a gem. The reel is spooled with fly line with a small amount of leader material tide to the fly line. I have cleaned the fly line and it looks brand new. For sale is a very nice vintage Heddon Automatic Free Stripping No. 87 Fly Reel manufactured by James Heddon’s Sons Dowagiac. Michigan with its Original Box and Paper Insert. I don’t know if this reel has ever been used but if it has it doesn’t show it. There a couple of rub marks but it is otherwise in unmarked condition. The reel is unusual because the spool spring is still intact and is very strong. The reel is finished in a dark brown/bronze color with engraved graphics. The box is in very good condition but the label appears to have been rubbed or stripped off. The insert is in very nice condition and contains not only information on the reel but also advertising for some of the Heddon fly rod lures popular during this period of time. Vintage Heddon Automatic No. 57 Fly Fishing Reel and Line
Vintage James Heddon's Sons automatic fly reel. Seems to be in very good used working condition with typical light wear on both sides. Likely from the mid to late 1950's. Reel has dark green fly line(possibly 9wt) and short leader. It was purchased in a lot attached to a 9wt Heddon rod from that era. not included) I tested the reel the other day. Using it to cast the 9wt fiberglass rod and it stripped easily and had a snappy spring loaded retrieve, just like I remembered they did back in the day. I looked around for an original description from a Heddon catalog with no luck. Or I would have more details. At any rate, it is a nice reel and could certainly be added to your collection, or fished on lake or stream. I ship all my items USPS Express or Priority Mail upon your payment posting on Paypal.

This auction is for a Vintage Heddon 11 Automatic Fly Fishing Reel in Original Plastic. It is in good unused condition. Has some scratches. And light dirt throughout. All labels are intact. Color is bright. Reel is well oiled and does have some oil residue throughout. It has no line on it, and I do not know if it works properly. I do not know how much line it will take. This is how I aquired it in it's original plastic. It had been sitting on a shelf in a garage for years. Appears to have never been used. All parts move well. Needs a cleaning. 3 vintage fly reels: Heddon automatic #57 & 2 Martins automatic # 8A & a # 63
I am selling 3 used vintage fly reels: Heddon automatic#57& 2 Martins automatic# 8A& a# 63. All 3 are in working condition. Not definitely need some loving cosmetic care. The Heddon automatic# 57 has the least rust of the 3(just a couple od small spots) The Martin Mohawk automatic 8A has some rust on the finger trigger& the reel base, but should be able to be cleaned up pretty good. The Martin 63 has a pretty rusted base along with the rusted screws& drag button on the front. The drag button on the 63 does work, but I am not sure of the drag on the Heddon as it is stuck& I didn’t want to force it open. I do NOT have the original boxes for the reels. Sorry.
