After some research I still do not really know what exactly this is.I have seen paperwork like this but none with 3 ring binder holes and none that say PFLUEGER SPORTING GOODS DIVISION SALES OFFICE DRAWER P. COLUMBIA, S.C. This might be rare and unusual or I might not have looked hard enough. Some numbers on the back that look like a date. 5-23-79. Couple small tears in the fold(see pics) but other than that very nice readable condition.This possibly rare item would make a nice addition to the Plueger collection. Start it at 10.00 bucks and let you all decide if its worth anything. Any less than that I will just keep it. Sold as is as seen meaning non refundable one or all. P.S. Pflueger Medalist 1495 1/2 Fly Reel Box Papers circa 1953 L/H (55)
The reel has an owner made large diameter shooting head. Probably a nylon line from the 60's before the advent of the more modern PVC coated lines, nicely attached to a modern running line attached to a lot of backing. A nice setup in very good condition. The reel has been converted to left hand retrieve using a black nylon ratchet and drag plate that became available about ten years after this reel was made. The box is solid with some wear; the paper work is proper for the 1953 box and the reel.
