Vintage Martin 72 Fly Fishing Reel, Lures, And Leather Case
Vintage Martin reel and small tackle. I am pretty sure that most of the lures and leather case are also made by Martin. Two lures are Bretton. This has been sitting in a basement for quite awhile and shows wear. It seems to be missing the multi-piece rod. The case is water buffalo leather. Wear is visible on all edges. Up for bids is a vintage. Used! in good condition(appears to be working fine) fly fishing reel. This is a Martin Model 72, fly fishing reel. Made in the USA!Mohawk. NY) It shows usage and could use restoration(paint. it may be in it's original condition. The unique part I find on this reel is the way it comes apart with just a click of the fingertip(see pics where pencil tip is pointing to metal piece which when moved allows for easy maintenance and cleaning. There's an"on. Off" part that usually(I thought)makes the reel click louder, but on either setting, it is a quiet reel, so I am not sure if that's an issue that needs tlc.or its the way its supposed to be. Reel’s are both Right handed Reels. Some wear and NOT in Working shape. Has a line capacity of WF8F/100yd/20# Reels have high strength aluminum alloy spools that measure 1 7/8” wide. Plates have decent amount of wear and NO emblem. Spool is in good shape with some minor wear. Has some wear for a vintage reel but good complete reels for PART’s or to REPAIR alike. The Super-Sized and Zoom-Able pictures are of the reel which shows it quite well. Some finish wear but a good Martin model no. 72 reel ready to repair or use for parts alike. VINTAGE MARTIN #72 FLY REEL GREAT CONDITION - POSSIBLY UNUSED(?)
Up for auction is this vintage Martin Model 72 Fly Reel in superb condition. It has just a couple of extremely small marks on it that keep it from being perfect. Those marks. Plus the fact that it has some backing spooled- and that it was found at a local auction are all that keep me from calling it as new. The spring clip that locks the sideplate in place has a small mark on it(see last picture) The are a couple of extremely light indentations(with no paint damage) on the handle side, located near the"Co. on the gold medallion. I mention these, even though they are very inconspicuous. Mechanically, it is perfect, but I did notice that when the handle is cranked, the center screw seems to loosen a tiny bit. My pictures are always of the actual item(s) so please use them verify what it is being offered, as well as condition. Consider ... morethe pictures as a vital part of the description. This one is used but hardly as there are no scratches. Scrapes or visual eyesores guaranteed[ what you see in some of the pictures is dust related and not paint loss] I found this vintage Martin fly reel at an estate sale and just passing it along. A am unfamiliar with the mechanics of this one but it appears that all works and if not then send it back for a full refund for any reason as others will covet this one.
