The cranking mechanism works great. It did have some old line which harde ned a nd was crumbling so I removed it. It is about 3 5/8 inches across. Also there is no screws on frame. Early handle knob and square line guide. Reel is used, wear, finish has been painted over on backside raised edge. No finish on back side of spool. Complete& working good. Tough to find Pflueger reel I sell my reels in the condition I find them. They have not been cleaned. Polished or oiled by me. They are checked for external cracks, short foot, clicker and broken screws. I try to note any problems. First class postage in the U.S. is $4.00 If buying more than one reel I combine shipping. Pflueger 2094 Gem Fly Reel Brass Foot VG+ Orvis Granger Heddon
1930s-40s brass foot Gem with good paint for age and in EXC mechanical condition. No cracks in handle. Typical rubs to edges. Please see all photos for details. The front face of spool has what look like touch ups to paint. Tone is slightly darker in spots. Use zoom to look closely. This does not appear on rest of reel. I cleaned carefully and lubed with hot sauce. I'm selling because this older style brass foot with broad-end does not quite sit well enough on my small 50s Battenkill Deluxe reel seat. Or an excellent fresh run salmon reel on that vintage fly bamboo rod" You are bidding for an excellent example of the No. 2094 Pflueger Gem. Made in USA. Size of this reel is 3 1/4" diameter, approximately 1 1/4" wide, the reel foot is approximately 2 1/2" inches long and 9/16" wide, the handle is nice marbleized bone colored plastic, approximately 7/8" tall. The original paint on this fly reel is in pretty good shape I would say 98% there. Original wide-slot thumb screw to release the spool, the line guard I believe is German silver. The only research material that I have found was a paragraph in a J Campbell's book"Classic And Antique Fly Fishing Tackle" in which he makes ... morereference to a whisper of German silver, and on a black reel the only whisper that looks German silver is the line guard, it could be the reel foot but it's a bit too shiny for German silver. 3 of the original slot head screws which hold the reel foot are there one has been replaced with a phillips head screw( that fit with a similar thread pattern) Background items are not for sale here with this item. A Pflueger Gem complete with box and papers in excellent condition. Box is dated 11 47 and is in excellent condition as are the papers inside. The box does have it's original 5.50 price tag. The reel does have a little missing paint but is in great shape for a 60 + year old reel. It's mechanically excellent and very tight and smooth. Comes with a line in good shape that may be a silk line. Gems are a mid arbor design and a great match for 4/5/6 wt lines. This reel would look great matched up with a vintage bamboo rod. This is a vintage fishing reel made in the USA by Pflueger. It is named a Gem and it has a Pat. date that I can't read. It has a multicolored Bakelite handle and the foot across the bottom is brass. The reel is 3 1/4" across the center and it is full marked on the knob side. It makes a soft clicking sound if you turn the reel. Listing another reel I obtained from my late Uncles collection. Here is a PFLUEGER"GEM" NUMBER 2094 freshwater fly reel. It is all metal with a sticker on the bottom and side reading DT-5-F. Air Cell Fly Line. No rust, some paint wear off of the handle side of the reel form normal wear and tear. Stamped"made in the USA" pat. No 1871386. About 3 inches toall by 3 1/4 inches wide, and it is in good condition.

The reel was produced by Pflueger of U.S.A. The reel is a Model 2095 reel with a satin gun metal finish. The reel was found in its original box as well a small pamphlet with specs of the use of this reel as well as the 2094 model. The reel measures 3 and 5/8's inches in diameter and is 1 and 1/4 inches thick not including the winding handle. The reel appears to be in very good condition. 2 Pflueger Medalist Gem Fly Reels 2094, 95 Circa 1950 (28)
The Gems are a well made click and pawl reel that will last for many generations. The Pflueger Gem reels were made with the same components as the Pflueger Medalist. The 2094 is the same size as the Medalist 1494. The 2095 is the same size as the Medalist 2095. The 94 has finish loss on the spool due to the line dressings used on the old silk lines. The bare aluminum that remains is very smooth and polishes very well. The 95 spool has the small tab in the center of the spool broke off. It is crescent shaped and is designed to knot the line onto it. This will in no way affect function or appearance. they should make good users.
