Up for bid is a nice condition Orvis Battenkill 5/6 Disc Drag Fly Reel for 4-6wt lines with an additional E xtra S pool. Reel is spooled with a lightly used Orvis 5wt WF Fl oating Wonderline and the spool is rigged with an Orvis 5wt Sink Tip line. This reel was made in England. Perfect reel for lightweight freshwater use on any 4.5, or 6 weight rod. Smooth and reliable drag these English-made reels are hard to come by in this great condition. There are some scrapes along the frame around the rim with some paint worn off but the reel is in perfect wor king order. Please see pics. Offered for sale is an older Orvis Clearwater Classic II Fly Reel. MADE in ENGLAND. The r eel is currently set up for left hand retrieve. The reel comes complete with an Orvis fly line and backing. Lightly used condition- the fly reel is VERY CLEAN with some paint wear around the edge. The Orvis fly line on the reel is a Orvis WF-4-F. I would replace the leader before use as I have no idea on how old the current leader is. Also included is an extra spool which looks unused but has little paint wear from storage I guess. The extra spool is a lighter gray color also- The extra spool fits the reel perfectly and is marked exactly like the original on the reel. This older reel was found inside an older fly fishing vest at a recent estate sale in my area- I have never used the reel. Cortland Crown Fly Reel. Made in England, and a spare spool. As described in the Condition section above: The spare spool is in very good condition. The reel is useable as is. But has some problems. It turns kind of rough. And to remove the spool, you must remove screw at back; the spool release lever at the front does not work. I'm not an expert on fly reels, but it looks like maybe the problem is that the spindle is separated and stuck inside the spool? See the photo with the reel taken apart. If you are good at reel repairs. Maybe you can figure out how to fix it. The spool is 3 5/16 inches across the top. And 2 7/16 inches across the bottom. And 1 1/16 inches wide. Outside dimension. And 3/4 inch wide, inside dimension.
