Unusual Martin Pink Model 60 Single Action Fly Fishing Reel Made in USA
For sale at a buy it now fixed price is this unusual vintage fly fishing reel by Martin. It is a medium size(5/6/7) reel. The model is 60 from the 1960s and made in the USA. What is unusual is the color. It is clearly pink. However. That is where it gets a little puzzling. The pink is badly worn, as you can see, over the usual black hard finish. At first glance I thought someone had colored this one themselves. However, on close inspection I find that the color extends under the hardware that is permanently affixed. It gives every appearance that the pink was put on the reel body prior to final assembly. If so, the pink is clearly not as durable as the black underbody. In the high use areas like the clicker, the pink is completely gone. In all it gives a pink but somewhat mottled appearance. All in all its a little different. This one is ... moreloaded with older Air Cell DT-5-F fly line. It has a click drag. This one has been used but is in good condition mechanically and functioning well.
