1959 Pflueger Medalist 1495 Fly Reel Diamolite Line Guard ca.1930's Extra Spool
For consideration. A vintage(1959) used Pflueger 1495 Medalist R.H. retrieve fly reel with rectangular Diamolite Line Guard, adjustable drag, dual click, and"Made in Akron O USA" stamped on reel body. Mechanically sound but with tackle box rash in original paint including scrapes, rubs, dings. and"wear" spots, especially on body edges. I've used Medalist reels for 55-years and this one still has a lot of life left in it. Included is a spare spool, most likely from the late 1930's, with an amber colored plastic handle and an aluminum spool latch cover. Both spools have old fly lines on them that in my opinion are in poor condition and probably not usable except for display purposes. Being offered"as is. Thanks for looking.

Up for auction is a" Vintage Pflueger Medalist#1496 1/2 Fly Reel With Diamolite Line Guard" Reel has makers marks on the front which reads. Pflueger Medalist Diamolite Line Guard No. 1496 1/2 Patented, see picture# 4, reel functions perfect and turns smooth with a strong constant click and a working dial drag on the rim, foot is unaltered, see picture#12. Reel is in Very Good Plus Condition with only some very light finish wear on the edges and the back. Reel weight is 7.7 ounces, spool width is 1 3/8 inches and the reel diameter is 4 inches. Lot of three vintage Reels. Shakespeare Automatic. Shakespeare Russel Model 1896 Diamolite Line Guard No 1494 All are in vintage condition. Showing wear from age and use. The Shakespeare Russell still has line attached. The Automatic seems to be in working order. I am not familiar with its workings to say any better. It recedes when line is pulled. The reel remains in very nice condition and fully spooled with an unknown brand name fly line that looks to be in very good condition also. Some light scuffs to the paint but overall very clean and ready to use immediately. Included will be a Cortland fly leader new in the package found with the reel. The reel is smooth.
