Free Shipping Location: Japan This is a vintage Daisy Heddon Model 320 Fly Reel. It is in excellent working condition with no mechanical problems. Look at all the photos for the cosmetic ... morecondition. Note that the reel and spool were marked in black. But this appears to be black nail polish, which can be fairly easily scraped off with a fingernail without marring the reel's finish. I will leave finishing that job to the new owner. The(very) old fly line(a Scientific Anglers Air Cel Wet Tip WF-6-F/S) and old backing are included, but may not be fishable. It is now set up for left-hand wind, but can be easily changed to right-hand wind. This classic reel belonged to my Dad, and I remember him buying a couple of these as spares in the 1960's, and this one, while more than 50 years old, likely wasn't used very much. I managed to lose the one he gave me at some point about 30 years ago. The reel frame is 3 1/2 inches in outside diameter and 1 inch wide. The spool is 3 1/8 inches in outside diameter and 3/4 inch wide. What is interesting about these reels is that they were assembled in the USA out of parts made in Japan(as marked on the reel foot) and they were high quality but relatively inexpensive reels. As you can see, the Heddon 320 is essentially a copy of the classic Hardy Lightweight fly reel. I am not sure if parts are interchangeable. These Heddon 320's are quite rare(certainly more rare than the Hardy reels) and extremely hard to find in this condition. An essential for your collection, even if you only collect Hardy reels, but the reel can also be used for any fresh-water fly fishing. I have too many fly reels that I don't use, so I am thinning the herd. I will be listing some other fly reels and duck calls this week, so take a look at my other auctions. I accept only Paypal. Vintage Hardy Bros. fly reel "Perfect" model
Vintage used Hardy Bros. Ltd fly reel. This reel was made in Alnwick England and is Hardy Bros. Ltd 3 1/8" The'Perfect' flyreel. Patent numbers stamped on the side read: 24245&9261. It also has stamped Duplicated Mark II. The zippered padded case it comes with was made by H J Collins Mfg. Co. As near as we can tell this reel is right hand retrieve. Research found extra reels available. This reel comes apart by holding the inner reel while turning the handle counter clock wise. Once you take the reel apart you can see the small ball bearings in the center that give this such a smooth reeling motion. We also ran a small test on the crossbars to make sure they weren't nicked or worn and would cut away at your line. By running yarn across both sides of each crossbar we were able to determine there appear to be no burs on ... morewhich to cut your fly line. Although this reel is used. Its in good shape for its age. There are nicks in the finish, that have some rust in them, but the overall integrity of the reel is intact and great. On the body, on the part that connects the reel to the rod is scratched and shows some minimal rust, but again, this doesn't affect the integrity of the reel. The action is tight and all options seem to be fully operational.

With a grooved brass foot~~inscribed on the side of the foot with the British Pat.272409, inscribed on the inside with the maker's initials"W.S. ~ the employee of Hardy who made this reel. Because of the brass foot, we suspect that this reel was made before WW I as all of the brass was appropriated for shell casings until the war's end. The reel retains much of it's gray leaded wonderful patina. The reel has a black ebonite crank handle. I know very little about Hardy reels other then some of them can be quite expensive so here goes. I found this at a garage sale attached to an old fly rod and the way the pictures show is the way I found it. It does need a good cleaning and lubrication however the clicker is one of the loudest that I have heard on a fly reel. Looks to have normal wear to the metal body& edges and the reel seat on one end has a tiny chip of metal missing[ last pic] It's real tiny and should not be an issue. Offered for sale is a vintage Scientific Angler System 7 fly reel& 1 extra spool. The reel was MADE by Hardy in England I was told in the late 1970's. The reel comes with a marked Scientific Anler reel case. Both the fly reel and extra spool were found inside the reel case(tight fit but that how they were found! The reels housing shows paint wear from use but otherwise the reel is smooth and ready to use. There are no chips or dings-just ordinary paint wear from use. There are fly lines on each spool that I think are still useable. Both line could use a cleaning. The reel is set up for right handed retrieve but can be switched if you know how. Vintage Hardy Bros. Fly Reel - The Princess - NO RESERVE
A nice old reel for restoration. Parts or display. It's all here, but it has seen better days! Check out the photos for the details. There are plenty of scratches and nicks from years of use. You can also see an unfortunate"operation identification" engraving on the face. Ouch. The drag does not work. The picture shows the mechanism, and the individual parts move nicely, but the drag does not engage the spool at all. Don't forget the spool! It installs nicely and doesn't have any major damage. The outside face has scratching, but no big diggers like the reel. Overall, the outside diameter of the reel is 3 1/2" Let me know if you have any questions. Offered is a Hardy Bros. of Alnwick PERFECT fly reel Extra spool(only) The back-plate measures 3 1/8 inches. And the inside width of the spool is 15/16 of an inch. This spool is of vintage English U.K. manufacture. And is in V.G. nice condition. I'm not sure, but I think it fits a 3 1/2 inch Perfect reel. Check your own spool's measurements to be sure. JW Young Fly Reel Red Agate Line Guide Vintage (Hardy St George Style)
JW Young Fly Reel with a red agate line guide. Built by J.W. Young. 3 1/2 diameter 7/8" wide spool. This reel was a"clone" of Hardy's St. George fly reels, with a single row of winding plate perforations, red agate line guide set in a nickel silver ring and nickel silver rim tension screw. Built for right hand wind, the reel is in VG condition, with moderate finish wear and scattered shallow scratches. I've noticed a faint line in the red agate(I couldn't capture it in the photo) but can't feel any crack in the smooth surface and price is adjusted for that. The reel foot is smooth brass with no tool marks.

I'm selling a vintage Hardy fly reel. Marquis#10. Reel is in very good working order. With only minor wear marks. I'm selling due to thinning out a large collection. It is in it's original leather case stamped House of Hardy made in England. Zipper on leather case works well. Case has a minor scuff mark on top of cover, left side. It has been touched up with a little blue. There is no line or backing on this reel.
