This reel is stamped"Featherlight" on the front, No. 260" under the foot and"Pat. Jan. 14, 96" on the back, which of course is 1896. The click works well in both directions and the foot is full length and has not been filed. The spool spins smoothly. While the knob has been replaced, it fits very well, is secure and the proper size. This reels is the smaller version of the Featherlight 270 and 280. Returns are accepted within 3 days of receipt. The reel on the left in the 1st picture is a Union Hardware Sunnybrook; it will display nicely. But I wouldn't fish with it-it is in only fair mechanical condition: the clicker is weak, and there's a catch in the action when one turns the spool. The second reel is a South Bend Bait Co. St. Joe no. 1170; it has some surface rust(which will clean up, if you are that industrious) but it is in excellent mechanical condition, with a strong clicker in both directions. PFLUEGER NO. 60 TWO for one bid- Vintage Pflueger Progress. Raised pillar, skeleton fly reels are relisted here. Spools spin freely, like a top. Clicker works. All metal is very clean. Frame is solid brass. I think that spool is polished nickel plate. Both rubberoid handles are beautiful, as shown. 60" is stamped into bottom of feet. Pflueger, Bulldog trade mark, and PROGRESS, are stamped on top of the feet. NO RESERVE above opening. The line is very old and stiff. Probably has been there since Hitler was a corporal. Overall. You are bidding on"one" very rare reel. This Schukken Titanium Fly reel that I special ordered from Ids Schukken in Holland. Its right hand retrieve only. The frame and spool are made out of pure Titanium and is salt water resistant. Only two were made and I own both of them and selling only one at this time. This reel is very functional and highly collectable. Rated for a 8wt line but can be used up to a 10wt forward line. Similar dimensions to a Abel#2. Very smooth and strong synthetic adjustable disc drag that has a out going click. I would rate this reel to be 9.8 out of a 10. I reel will last at least a lifetime with the proper maintenance. Vintage HENDRYX Raised Pillar 80 Fly/Casting Reel
Here is a vintage early Hendryx casting/fly reel. As you can tell from the pictures it has some wear. Including line wear on the posts, and brassing. It has a counterbalanced handle and is marked 80 on the foot. The reel runs well and is physically sound but the click mechanism doesn’t function. One side of the outer surface of the foot is marked HENDRYX, the other shows two patent dates which appear to be 1887 and 1888. The reel will ship as a 12-ounce package. Winner will pay actual cost of shipment from Pennsylvania. Ebay encourages me to indicate that I accept PayPal and to not mention other forms of payment that are at least equally acceptable. Up for bid is one Vintage WINCHESTER Model No. 2142 Nickel Plated Brass Raised Pillar Fly Reel with 2:1 Multiplier. Clicker, and Drag Control. The foot has 4 rounded bent up ears that attach to the pillars. The handle knob is ivory colored and appears to be possibly ivory or whale bone. The knob has some cracks which further make it look like ivory or bone. There are two slide buttons on the rear plate, one to control the clicker and one to engage the drag function. It is in good working condition, and good overall condition with the plating in good condition. There are some minor scratches from use(see photos) The front cover is engraved with" WINCHESTER. TRADE MARK. MADE IN USA, 2142" and there is"40" on the bottom of the foot. Winchester bought Hendryx Reel Co. in 1919. And produced fishing tackle from 1920 through ... more1930. Here is a nice old Hendryx 40 yard raised pillar fly fishing reel with 1878 and 1888 Patent dates on the reel foot. The reel measures 2" in diameter at the widest point. And the spool is 1'wide. The reel looks like brass painted black. And it has an ivory-colored knob. This is a very tight reel with smooth operation, a strong clicker and a good drag. Up for bid is one Vintage Nickel Plated Brass"HENDRYX" Raised Pillar Fly Reel with Counter-balanced Handle. Clicker, drag, and 2:1 geared multiplier. The clicker is controlled with a slide button on the rear plate and the drag control is controlled by a second slide button on the rear plate. The front cover is marked"HENDRYX, MADE IN U.S.A. This reel is constructed of nickel plated brass. With the plating about 50% worn off(see photos) It is in working condition with both the clicker and drag working. The counterbalanced handle appears to have a bone knob(see photos) It measures 1-3/4" diameter. 3-1/16" deep including the handle, pillars are about 1-3/8" long, and has a foot measuring 2-9/16" long by 9/16" wide. Vtg Hendryx Raised Pillar, Brass casting or fly reel, Excellet uncleaned cond.
Search This is a vintage hendryx reel. Not sure ifit is a casting or fy reel. Reel spool is abut 2 x 2 inchesandthe reel seat is 2 9/16 inches long. The reel seat is a raised pillar and marked Hendryx on one side and Pat Mar 21? and Pat July 10, 1888 on the other end. Some of the numbers are worn but most are clearly visible. The reel works wel and has a nice click,in and out. It is not bent or twisted in any way and looks like old brass with a good dark patina. Filled with old fishing line which I did not remove so I dont know what is underneath the line. Great old reel, guessing it s a trout reel. Please ask questions-if you have any-before you bid. Most of my items are used and show some wear. What may seem unimportant to me may be very important to you so please look at the pictures carefully. Here is a pair of nice vintage raised pillar fly reels. I believe they are both 60-yard reels. The chrome one is in pretty nice condition. The foot is marked 60 and it is also marked made in USA. The clicker on this one is in working order but it is quiet compared to the clicker on the black reel. The black reel shows ore signs of wear and could stand to be cleaned. In Karl White's three book reference there are pictures of Winchester reels with this distinctive diamond design on the spool. Could this be a Winchester trade reel? There are no markings of any kind on this reel. Cosmetically this reel is good. Missing about half of its nickel plating and showing some surface rust. Swaged construction. Mechanically it is very good with a strong on/off click button on the tail plate. The winding knob is black bakelite? A nice mystery reel. Identify it for me. This is the second(and last) of this pattern in my possession.

Patented on 7/10/1888 and last made in 1919. Hendryx- Started in 1870 in New Haven Conn by Andrew B Hendryx. Company was later absorbed by Winchester. Best known for their firearms, in 1919. This reel is a raised pillar crank reel made from brass and nickel plated. The crank has a hardwood knob. The number 60 is stamped on the bottom of the foot and indicates the line capacity in yards. The top of the foot plate is stamped"HENDRYX" and"PAT. MAR, 21, 1884" The retrieve remains smooth. There is a modest loss of nickel plating(see photos) but less than one might expect from an antique of this era. Here we have a vintage Meisselbach Featherlight Raised Pillar Skeleton fly reel. Solid brass, nickel frame, raised pillar, ventilated frame, skeleton spool fly fishing reel. Meisselbach Featherlight No. 270, Pat. Jan 14 1896. Strong Size: 2 7/8" diameter, 7/8" wide spool, unaltered reel foot is 2 3/8" long. The spool spins as smooth as silk with Nickel showing some wear in the usual spots. May need a bit of cleaning. The German Nickel Silver reel was made by August F. Meisselbach in Newark, New Jersey.
