I am selling all of my belonging that are not moving toward my goals for my new future. I am truly hoping for some help to get into grad school to study robotics to help other people with their physical issues hopefully in the area of electronic/ robotic prosthetics. I am offering one of my fly reels. This is a vintage Pflueger medalist fly reel probably from the 1960's. This was part of my family's estate and I remember this attached to a rod most of my life. The Pfleuger Medalist reel comes loaded with a#6 weight forward floating fly line and full backing line. It also comes with a spare spool. The spare spool is also in excellent condition with only minimal wear on the inner surface where it interfaces with the reel frame. The wear consisits only of areas of worn off paint. Pflueger Medalist 1494 1/2 Fly Reel Made in Akron Model
Up for auction is a Pflueger 1494 1/2 Medalist fly reel. The reel is for lines 5 thru 7. The reel is a Made in Akron model with the plastic right hand wind only plastic drag plate. The letter B is stamped into the bottom of the reel foot. The reel is in very good condition and is ready to fish. It does have some paint loss. I did have to do a repair to this reel. The plunger and spring were stuck in their pocket and would not come out. I drilled thru the back of the pocket and pushed them out. The hole in the pocket was then filled with JB Weld and another spring and plunger were installed. The reel works as it's supposed to. Line and backing not included. Shipping to the lower 48 only by Priority mail.

This is a patent pending marked reel before the patent for ornamental design was issued to Enterprise Manufacturing in Sept. 1930. Gunmetal finish shows moderate wear and has a nice patina- please review all the photos. The original riveted foot has been neatly filed about 1/8" short on one side. Cranks smoothly and the fixed click works well. You can use it either right or left handed since there is no ring line guide. A classic hard to find reel to add to your collection!
