From the overall looks and condition. I don't think this has been used much. Cosmetically it has 99% of paint, yet there seems to be some minor scratching or grime on the silver crank up dial. The line is older, but as new condition would pair nicely with an older model glass rod. The reel measures 3" diameter x 1 7/8" wide. And at 10.2 ounces(with line) it should balance out any vintage heavier glass or bamboo fly rod.

Martin model 65 fly reel-original owner-vintage and barely used
This reel was given to me as a gift maybe about 30 years ago. It was used a couple of times when new and has been stored away in an old tackle box every since. The reel still has the original line that came on it and the line sticker on side. Original box and papers that came in it also. It will need light cleanup and new line I'm quite sure. Flyfishermen will be familiar with the model. Also selling 8 1/2 foot Garcia rod that came with it separately.

In seriously sweet condition. This original Martin brand fly fishing reel apparently never met a fish in its existence, as it is shiny and appears completely unused. The BOX looks like it was stored somewhere inept, as it has a mediocre share of wear, AND has apparently the original price written on it, which was at the time $23.35. As stated, the reel survived nicely. It has ONE SCRATCH as shown in the last photo, photos are VERY closeup and the scratch isn't so noticeable in person. Otherwise, it is black, shiny and super, SUPER NICE! Has original instructions.
