This auction is for a lot of 2 Vintage Pflueger fly fishing reels: a Medalist No.1495 and a Progress No.1774. Both reels are fully functional and in good condition. The Medalist is 4" in diameter. Has an aluminum alloy spool and frame, push button quick release spool, external drag system, and convertible left/right retrieve. It has some normal wear for something almost 75 years old; scuffing, scratches, and some pitting, but works well. The Progress is 3" in diameter, has an aluminum spool, and a gunmetal finish over a brass frame. The gunmetal finish is in great shape with very little sign of wear, and the reel works great. Up for auction is two antique fly reels. The Pflueger Medalist in pictures 1 through 4 does not come with any line only backing. The drag on the reel is broke but the spool is in working order. The Progress Reel is in good working order pictures 5 through 8 and comes with line. The frame on this reel appears to be made out of brass. There is one Pflueger Progress reel which has'80' stamped on the foot and has the bulldog trademark symbol on it. There is one Pflueger Sal-Trout 1554 reel with has'Made In U.S.A. stamped on it. 40' is written on its foot in sharpie. Lastly there is one small reel which does not have any brand stamped on it. But does have'Made In USA' stamped on the foot underneath some sticker residue. You are bidding on 3 vintage Pflueger fly fishing ree ls: A Pflueger Medalist 1494 with a Diamolite Line Guide A Pflueger Progress 1774 A Pflueger Summit 1294 The 1494 and the 1774 were made in the USA and the 1294 was made in China. All 3 reels are in good condition but the 1494 shows its age with some rash and some paint missing from the spool. The 1294 is spooled with line but I don’t know what kind. Both reels are fully functional but the No 1495 Reel is in better shape than the No 1494 Model Reel. the No 1495 Reel is very nice. And functions well(see pictures. No 1494 Reel is clearly labeled in the pictures, it has an issue with the front piece(see pictures. While it still functions well it looks poor which is why I feel like the No 1494 reel would be better used for parts. 2 Pflueger Medalist Gem Fly Reels 2094, 95 Circa 1950 (28)
The Gems are a well made click and pawl reel that will last for many generations. The Pflueger Gem reels were made with the same components as the Pflueger Medalist. The 2094 is the same size as the Medalist 1494. The 2095 is the same size as the Medalist 2095. The 94 has finish loss on the spool due to the line dressings used on the old silk lines. The bare aluminum that remains is very smooth and polishes very well. The 95 spool has the small tab in the center of the spool broke off. It is crescent shaped and is designed to knot the line onto it. This will in no way affect function or appearance. they should make good users.
