Rod has been fished a bit but is in excellent conditions with no marks or scratches. This is a custom built rod and I have spared no expense on the components and the workmanship! Rod comes in a Sage tube and cloth bag with warranty card. The rod is wrapped in dark green with metallic green and gold trim. It accents the black ONE blank very nicely. A factory rod cannot match the quality or workmanship in this rod. The rod was built with a beautiful reel seat made by REC Components. Wood insert is a burl spalted maple. Winston Fly Rod, VSL 690-4 (6wt, 4 piece)
This is a lightly-used Winston VSL 690-4(6wt. 9ft, 4pc) fly rod. I originally purchased a Winston IBIS and used it for several years, but when I broke the tip, Winston replaced it with a brand new rod(great customer service) This is a very smooth rod that is light in your hands and yet is also very flexible in application. With it I have stuck Shad on the Potomac, chucked poppers to Smallies on the Shenandoah, and lately hurled huge flies to Largemouths on a local lake. Having fished Steelhead Alley in Ohio for several years, I was planning on using this rod on my next trip there. The only thing I don't like about this rod is that it is not designed for use in Saltwater, and that is where I need the most'supplies' the euphemism I use when talking about my next fly rod purchase with my wife- supplies has the nice ring of'need' ... moreover mere'want' So, if you need freshwater rod that can do it all at a great price, consider this one! The cork shows mild discoloration from use. But otherwise the rod is in very good condition; there are no chips and the ferrules are tight.
