I am convinced this fly rod was never fished as the rubber on the butt section shows no scratches.no wear marks. You cannot set a rod on its butt section without scratching it. The threads on the reel seat are black with no paint missing. The chrome double-foot guides are perfect. All four graphite sections are perfect. Up for auction is a really cool Scott G2 9ft 7wt fly rod. This was the largest rod in the G2 series and. In fact, isn't even made anymore. The action on these G2 rods is delicious. This rod has been fished, not merely fondled and is therefore in"used" condition. It is not"like new" or"mint" It has some scuffs and one of the line guides(third from the top) is slightly bent and has been since the first week I got it. It has no effect at all on the casting or performance. Scott could fix it, or you could bend it back yourself. I never bothered since, again, it doesn't effect the rod's performance a bit. The fighting butt foam has some wear. I'd give the rod an 8+ in terms of condition. It's ready to fish! It has only been used a handful of times. No damage and there is only one tiny scratch that i can see on the join where i presume a small bit of grit has got in as i have put the rod together. The cork almost looks new, no scratches to the reel seat and all the snakes and eyes are in perfect condition. Usually after i had been fishing i would always wipe the rod down with clean fresh water and would buff the rod with a polishing cloth. There are a few little dents on the cap of the tube as seen in the photo but it doesnt effect the cap in any way and is not bent and screws on smoothly. I am only selling this rod as i have a 5wt and 8wt therefore i never use this one anymore and ... morei hate to see great rods sat in the dark! I will also throw in a Snowbee XS WF7 Floating Line.
