Sage TXL 2wt 7" 10" 3 piece rod with rod sock and factory tube. I am also including a weight matched Ross Evolution#0 Reel. I have Warranty cards for both the rod and reel. I also have the neoprene factory sock for the reel as well as the original box. Very clean and well taken care of set-up that has not seen much use. I originally bought it for fishing the small streams of western North Carolina. I haven't gotten down there as much as I had planned lately and the rod is just sitting in my office collecting dust. This is a great little rod. There are a few scratches on the blank but other then that, the rod is in great working shape. A great buy at a good price. Mint Sage TXL-F 4710-4 7'10" 4wt 4pc Top Rod in the 4wt Shootout
This rod has never seen a fish. I have taken it out to the lawn for some casting and must say it is one heck of a rod. For a 4wt that weighs less than two ounces. This rod can put some serious line out but still cast with just a couple of feet. Yellowstone Anglers recently listed this rod in it's top five 4wts during their shootout. That is very impressive for a small stream rod. Please look closely at the photos. You can see that the grip shows very little soiling and there are no scratches or other damage to the rod blank, seat, or guides. When I put it together I waxed the ferrules so there would be no scratching there either. Comes in original tube with original sock. I cannot find the warranty card but the rod can be registered directly on the Sage website to start your lifetime warranty. An out-of-production"dry fly" masterpiece that should never have been discontinued if you ask me. The SPL is a unique rod that got swallowed up by the fast. Faster, fastest craze. Much to the chagrin of slower/medium-action rod loyalists, these rods were produced for only 2-3 years before giving way to the faster, stouter SLT- much like what happened to the famed Winston DL4. The 389-3 SPL will protect the lightest of tippet yet with has a butt section stout enough to generate the line speed necessary to reach that distant riser. I have nymphed fished with this rod. Reel seat butt end has some ultra light scratching that may just be tarnishing. Nice unique cork grip is very dense, is naturally dark in color and free of any defects. This 000710-3 TXL rod has been fished a bit on the North Fork of the Yuba River. In Downieville, and has landed a number of sub-12" trout, and the slightly dirtied grip tells the story. A little simple green on a cloth would bring it back to stock. The triple"0" is the lightest rod that Sage makes, yet is a complete dart-thrower for those small streams where accuracy and stealth are the key. I can't see a single scuff or surface mark on any of the sections and even the bottom of the reel-seat only shows slight scuffs from where it was placed down on rocks. The natural tarnishing of the reel-seat hardware, which happens whether the rod is exposed to the elements or not, is already making the rod look cooler! I'm selling my Sage XP 476-2 because I need the cash. I've had this rod for over 2 years and have only fished it 4-6 times. This sweet little gem is a blast. It's perfect for small to medium sized streams and handles good sized fish well. The XP series is one of my favorites and I've own or fished several versions of the rod. This rod version is rare and is a pretty stellar little tool. As you can see from the pictures. The rod is in great condition. A really light mark on the reel seat, but it isn't much.
