Thomas& Thomas Solar 910S-4 Fly Rod. This rod is 9' long and is a 10 weight of 4 pieces. The rod is in great condition with some light soiling of cork and the blank is in light new condition. The tube has some wear with a few scratches on the screw on top and a few on the tube itself. I purchased this rod because I wanted to try it and see what all the buzz was about. This is a great rod and was designed for sight fishing when most of your casts are 70' and in. It has a nice tip which is soft enough for close casts but firm enough to pick up line after a longer cast. I think this rod fishes at its best with weighted flies that we use when permit and bonefishing on windy days. It casts a 10 weight line well but if you wanted to speed it up a bit you could easily throw a 9 with a magnum style line. Warranty return rods purchased directly from the St. Croix factory. The rod had a broken stripper guide, but I was able to find a matching stripper guide to make a complete and functional rod.
