This x has been anodized, is difficult to see and in no way affects the function of the reel seat. The rod tube cap has been replaced and the rod tube has a few scratches and marks from being bumped in my rod closet. It has been cast a number of times, in my clinic/casting classes, so the grip has slight palm sweat wear.I didn't even clean the grip with Simple Green just so that you can have it"stock" No factory tube, but warranty and factory sock and I will ship in a PVC tube for it's safety. This is a factory built Sage Flight 790-4. 7 weight, 9'0" 3 15/16 oz. fly rod in very good condition. It comes with 2 rod socks that are not original Sage equipment, but they keep the rod safe and clean, especially when slid into the pictured heavy duty PVC tube(approx. 32" long) that it will be shipped in. The PVC tube does not have any ends or fittings to hold the rod in, but the snugness of the rod socks inside the tube keeps them in place without any movement at all. Orvis Helios 907-4(9 foot 7 weight. 4 piece) Fly rod in great condition. Cork shows some soiling but is in good condition. Rod blank and guides are in great condition as well. Rod tube has a few scratches and cloth is like new condition. I am not sure how they could improve this rod and weighing less than 3 ounces it is a joy to cast. This is a tip flex 10.0 and is pretty quick but manageable for a variety of casting skill. This rod throws a 7 weight perfectly but if you feel it is too fast you could use a 7 magnum style line to slow it down a bit. I hate to sell this rod as I think history will reflect it as one of the best in its class. Shipping to Continental US only for 20 dollars and will refund the difference to buyer if less than that.
