Winston IM6 Graphite 7' 2 weight 2 pc. fly rod in excellent condition. A beautiful rod that is truly a joy to cast and fish in small wild trout streams. These rods were the predecessors to the WT line and were some of the best rods made by Winston. The rod is excellent condition with no damage to blank or reel seat. The rod has been fished and has minimal wear. I have started to fish with bamboo rods and find that I use my graphite rods less and less so it is time to thin the herd. The ease of a side-role cast makes it a favorite for fishing beneath canopies. There is some looseness in the cork handle that has been of no particular concern to me but can easily be repaired with a small amount of proper glue. I am including the attached reel for an outfit that is ready to go. Just tie on a fly. You may consider a new leader and I have found that a 7-½ leader serves my fishing style best. I use a 3X leader/tippet for small bass. And a 5X or 6X leader/tippet for trout and pan-fish. The rod(marked“6 ... moreor 7 Fly Line” but casts best with a 6 wt. line(which is also a bit gentler on the rod than the more demanding 7 wt. line) I'm including a 6 wt. floating/double-tapered line that I have enjoyed using– it has faded. An absolutely stunning Winston IM6 8 1/2' 3 pc 4 weight. Just about perfect. The scrimshaw is unbelievable. The colors in the brown trout are beautiful. This was an option you could pick but I've only ever seen two. Just a remarkable piece. The cork is like new. The rod has been used but I'm guessing once. It comes with the leather case with interior aluminum along with an additional sleeve which fits over the Winston tube. This all then fits into the leather case which Winston only made for a short time. All sections fit perfectly. The Winston blank is flawless. This is the piece your fly fishing collection is missing. Up for auction is a 6ft 6 inch 2 weight 2 piece Orvis Superfine Rod(One Ounce) with the original tube and rod sock with very little use. This is an older superfine series with the unsanded blank and has a very slow action. This rod is in excellent condition with only minor soiling on the cork grip due to use. I glanced over this rod and could only find two surface scratches on the blank(Pics 2 and 3) These scratches do not affect the action of this rod. Considering the age of the rod it is in great condition I have seen other older superfine rods sell for more than my asking price. This rod is much slower than the most current Superfine(Touch) series rods. The Superfine. One Ounce" is truly a classic within the superfine series.
