This all original vom Hofe reel is in outstanding condition and would rate a 9 out of 10 both mechanically and outward appearance. The reel is marked with serial number E-284 indicating that the reel was made in or near the year 1912. This Bass. Tuna& Tarpon reel measures 3 1/8" in diameter and 1 1/2" across the spool. The reel foot has been slightly filed on one end. The black side-plates are in great condition as are the German silver fittings. The reel is in fantastic mechanical condition with a thumb drag. The reel comes with its original properly marked vom Hofe case in very good condition showing minor wear. The stitching on the little strap near the buckle that holds the lid strap is unattached on one side. Return to the days when anglers like Zane Grey. Michael Lerner, Ernest Hemingway and S. It has Made in France on the rotating head. It has a sharp spring back on the bail arm and the anti reverse works well. All chrome is good. The reel has been completely stripped and cleaned and a New main Ball Race fitted.It has been thoroughly checked and serviced. It comes with a spare spool in it`s Original Red Case. for sale here is a very very good and clean scientific anglers system 2 10/11 salmon fly fishing reel. 3 + 7/8th" with 1.25" wide drum, counterbalanced handle, left or right wind, rear tension, 2 screw quick drum release, straight unfiled alloy foot, reversible lineguard, overall very very good with no flaws at all, its a good clean and tight reel to use, little used and virtually no paint wear as can be seen, and with typical system 2 strong check, one of the best drags ever designed, very fine example, comes with spare spool which is also just as good, 2 good clean fish-rite zipper cases and 2 simms velcro line bands, overall an excellent lot this one in fine condition.please see my other listings of hardy and other vintage fishing items this week.

for sale here is a very very good clean and little used original model black faced hardy marquis salmon no. 2 spare spool. Circa late 1960's 70's, 3& 7/8ths size, english made + overall excellent and clean with no buckles or dents etc. comes with a plastic hardy cog cover to stop grit getting in there and i will stick it in a good caimore neoprene pouch which is also fine.please see my other listings of hardy and other vintage fishing items this week.
