This Ambassadeur is all set. Ready to fish and works. Has a well working levelwind. Good cranking with a solid anti-reverse. H as a good freespool mode with dual manual backlash controls and air-brakes. Has a good working drag. And an well working clutch which dis-engages immediately on first crank. Another most reluctant sale but needs must. From my personal collection. Up for auction is this superb 1966/67 Abu Ambassadeur 5000C, 4 screw model in very good condition. There were very few 4 screw 5000C reels made before production was switched to the 3 screw in the late 1960s, hence the 4 screw 5000C is a rare find indeed: especially in such good condition. The reel shows very little wear and what there is I have tried to show in the pictures. It is in perfect working order with just a few rubs and small chips on the rims which can be seen in the pictures. The foot number is 19921 and the foot is smooth of course. Moreover, the reel has it's original silver arbour spool whish I understand is unique to the 4 screw model. Yet another most reluctant sale but needs must. From my personal collection. Up for auction is this stunning Abu Ambassadeur 6500C in black, foot number is 800405. When I bought this reel it was in a shocking state: filthy dirty, covered in lime-scale, loose, squeaky, wobbly and very unloved to say the least. Over the years I have sourced genuine Abu parts and bought the beauty back to a nearly new condition as you can see. New sideplates, brakeplate, handle and screws to mention but a few. Although the original frame cleaned up very well and is tight when the reel is assembled, the joints are still loose when stood alone. I would imagine the frame could be re-tightened somehow but I leave that decision to the buyer. Sadly there is some brassing around the foot number as the pictures show but that said, it's been sitting proudly in my ... morecollection for several years but I'm funding a new project now so it has to go. Rare Abu Ambassadeur 6600c black thumb bar model foot number 801000. a super chance to add to your vintage reel collection here with this very early ambassadeur dating from the 1980's. Superb working order. Still a great smooth reel to fish with but probably destined for the cabinet. Lovely chrome sits well against the black side plates and handle, smooth clutch and tough gearing allow you to play your catch, whilst the stainless bearings allow for some smooth casting. Dual tension control aids casting too whatever the conditions or lure size. The chrome is in very good clean condition, the plates have had some wear sympathetically touched in to avoid future issues. The black thumb bar spool release operates without a problem and has no splitting or cracking to it.
