J W Young Beaudex reel in very good condition with wire line guide. Reel is 4" diameter. 1 3/8" wide overall, spool is 7/8" wide inside. Finish is 95% there with some minor edge from honest use. Reel is dual click/pawl and is reversible retrieve. RHW or LHW. There are no cracks. Dents or major flaws with this reel. The reel foot has a minor bend at one end which could be straightened if needed. The reel performs very well and being a salmon size it could be used on a larger rod. Perhaps a switch or spey rod. Typical of all J W Young reels this reel is tight. Well put together and smooth acting. Edit: Line shown on reel is not included. for sale here is a very nice early model beaudex by JW youngs. Rarer 4" size with 1.25" wider drum, rear tension, patented early ergo grip handle, twin checks, left or right wind, reversible lineguide with no line marks at all, ebonite centre boss has no cracks, 2 screw drum release, unfiled and straight foot, reel is very good undamaged with no buckles and aside from a little paint loss its a lovely reel with good check, nice example, built in january 1964 and factory date stamped inside.please see my other listings of hardy and other vintage fishing items this week.

Vintage Shakespeare Noris Beaudex Salmon Fly Reel with Case.
TThis is a good working example of the Shakespeare Noris. Beaudex, 4 1/4" Salmon Fly Reel. The finish to the outside of the reel is a bit worn and is flaking in places. This was quite a regular occurance with this model of reel and the coating Shakespeare used. The reel is equipped with an adjustable ratchet. There is a Salmon Fly Line on the reel but I do not know its rating or integrity. Please ask any questions before bidding. POSTAGE: I will whenever possible post your item within 24hours of payment. for sale here is a lovely little vintage early model millwards flymaster which was built by JW youngs circa late 1950s and is basically a beaudex. Rear tension, ebonite 2 screw drum release with no cracks to the centre boss, 3" size, lineguard, patent ergo grip handle, twin checks and set for RHW but can be used for LHW too albeit the rear tension and the lineguard will be obsolete, 2 screw foot good and straight, good strong check, overall the reel is in good condition with no buckles dents or damage, other than a bit of paint wear and a little loss of chrome finish on one corner of the lineguard its a lovely little user reel, please view my other items for sale, item will be posted right away once paid for.

JW Young & Sons Beaudex Sea Trout or Salmon Fly Reel, excellent classic item
Here we have a smooth working example of the JW Young& Sons Beaudex Salmon or Sea Trout Fly Reel. Really excellent British fly reel, three and a half inches in diameter, with the wider arbour one and a half inches in overall depth. A real quality classic item, probably over 50 years old now but in excellent condition, with just a little rubbing wear paint loss from use. This reel comes with a nice after-market Bickerdyke Line Guard This fine looking reel in black works just as it should including the variable check lever(no feeling of wear here) and quick release spool. These reels were I believe made in the 1950's and 1960's by the JW Young& Sons factory in Redditch. The reel is loaded up with an unknown older fly line. A classic alloy fly reel for the collector or just as it should be for catching fish.

A NICE SCARCE VINTAGE PAIR OF J.W. YOUNG OF REDDITCH FLY REELS, BEAUDEX, SPEEDEX
Here is a nice scarce vintage pair of Redditch made fishing reels. They are in good honest used condition(see clear pictures to decide before bidding and email me with any questions or issues relating to my description) There is a nice Beaudex reel. Cosmetically clean and good and in working order but has the centre disc damaged but spool release is fine and working so I class it as in working order with a clear loaded fly line. I have also with it a centre disc that may work but I have not tried it. There is also a Speedex reel which is not fully working and slips on the wind so I am classing this as a repair or spares reel which should be great for someone!
