This reel is in fair ... moreto good cosmetic condition with numerous scratches as seen in the pictures. Please note: The reel works well when the anti-reverse lever is set to"R" This is the setting for using the reel in an underspin position on a spinning rod. The reel is working fine right now in the"L" position(mounted on top of the rod in baitcasting position) but the anti-reverse function has failed at various times while being tested in"L" mode. The freespool button and clicker work well. The reel was working better before I took off the sideplate for light cleaning and lubing. I am not very familiar with this particular reel so I may have reassembled it incorrectly. The reel does not appear to have any missing pieces. The box is in fair condition with signs of age and wear as seen in the pictures. The spare spool can be seen in the first picture and is in good condition. The manual is in fair to good condition with some light soiling and signs of wear. This reel has a unique anti-reverse feature that allows the reel to be mounted on top of a baitcast rod or underneath on a spinning rod with the right or left anti-reverse selector. The reel has been used and shows wear- most significant on the front line cover. The box has some soiling. Otherwise no breaks or tears. The other Johnson Reel is Model 710B. Vintage Johnson Century 100-A Closed Face Spincast Fishing Reel w/ Box & Papers
You are bidding on a Johnson Century Model 100-A"American Type" spinning/ spincast reel with box. Papers and spare spool. This reel is in fair to good cosmetic condition with numerous scratches as seen in the pictures. Please note: The reel works well when the anti-reverse lever is set to"R" This is the setting for using the reel in an underspin position on a spinning rod. The reel is working fine right now in the"L" position(mounted on top of the rod in baitcasting position) but the anti-reverse function has failed at various times while being tested in"L" mode. The freespool button and clicker work well. The reel was working better before I took off the sideplate for light cleaning and lubing. I am not very familiar with this particular reel so I may have reassembled it incorrectly. The reel does ... morenot appear to have any missing pieces. The box is in fair condition with signs of age and wear as seen in the pictures. The spare spool can be seen in the first picture and is in good condition. The manual is in fair to good condition with some light soiling and signs of wear. This reel has a unique anti-reverse feature that allows the reel to be mounted on top of a baitcast rod or underneath on a spinning rod with the right or left anti-reverse selector. Cook's Premier Model CP Fishing Reel Made by Johnson Century in USA
For sale at a buy it now fixed price is this rare find out of an old Denver estate. It is a Cook's Premier Model CP fishing reel. Dave Cooks sporting emporium was one of the two huge sporting goods stores in the Denver area back in the day(long since out of business) It competed with the famous Garts Sports Castle for dominance in the Rocky Mountain area. In addition to carrying all of the well known brands of sporting equipment. They also had store brands made under contract by many of the large USA manufacturers. This gold colored reel is one of those. This one is readily identifiable as a Johnson Century Model B reel but with a gold body instead of Green and with Cook's logo on it. No issues. Drag seems to be locked up. Not working, but the drag knob selector turns and clicks in place from 1-8. Original clear monofilament line is still on the reel. The exterior of the reel has been oiled to protect the integrity of its components. Which can get quite rusty if not stored in the right environment. A few of the Features Include: Left or Right Hand Retrieve· Exclusive Selecto-Dial Drag· Dual Anti-Reverse· Drag-Click when drag is working Reel was made by the Denison-Johnson Company out of Mankato.
