Hardy Uniqua Salmon Fly Reel - 3 3/4 Wide Drum
Up for auction is a Hardy Uniqua. The reel is 3 3/4 inches in diameter. And has a rim tension control and telephone latch. Mark II check, and stamped with the initials JRJ on the inside. Designed for right hand wind, but is currently set up as a left hand wind reel(it can be switch by simply reversing the pawl) The only real fault is the seat, which has been filed on both ends. The line is a 450 grain Rio Skagit Short and is included in the listing. Feel free to email with any question.

And tension adjuster is strapped over. The brass foot is original length at 3.3" The reel retains most of its original leaded finish and is in excellent mechanical condition. The spool is tight and free from wobble and the check works and sounds great. Only'defect' is some line burn on the rim as shown in photo 5. It looks worse in the photo than in reality. The reel was in use earlier this season and has a recent sink tip line fitted. No idea what weight it is. ANCSL became Army& Navy Stores in 1934 so I assume this reel predates that name change. for sale here is a nice little early model beaudex made by JW youngs. 3.5" size with 1" wide drum, rear tension, twin checks, right or left wind, centre boss has no cracks, 2 screw drum release, wraparound lineguard, unfiled and straight foot, built in 1962-63-ish, reel is very good undamaged with no buckles its a lovely little clean and tight reel to use and with good strong check, only normal paint loss as can be seen.great reels to use these.comes with a leatherette zipper pouch.please see my other listings of hardy and other vintage fishing items this week.

for sale here is a very good litle used orvis"salmon" salmon fly reel.
