Vintage Alpha reel from Australia. This bakelite Alpha Model dates back to the 1940s. It measures 3 inches in diameter and is in very good working order I had originally listed this reel as an ALVEY however I have been corrected by a more knowledgable source that this was actually manufactured by M B WRAGG CO of Gardenvale Vic(thanks for the info SEAJAMES) It is marked on one side in raised script: Alpha. Was a Winfield Reel everybody's first fishing reel? Of course not. I keep forgetting that some young fishermen probably cannot even remember Woolworth's! This is a Woolworth's. Winfield 3 3/4" Trout Fly Reel. I am not sure who made this reel but it is a replica or a lookalike of the Pflueger Fly Reel.It has off white hub and winding handle. The reel is loaded with a line so I must assume it has been used but only very lightly. The reel is in near mint condition. The reel comes in its original and striking. Turquoise, zipped case. for sale here is a lovely little vintage early model millwards flymaster which was built by JW youngs circa late 1950s and is basically a beaudex. Rear tension, ebonite 2 screw drum release with no cracks to the centre boss, 3" size, lineguard, patent ergo grip handle, twin checks and set for RHW but can be used for LHW too albeit the rear tension and the lineguard will be obsolete, 2 screw foot good and straight, good strong check, overall the reel is in good condition with no buckles dents or damage, other than a bit of paint wear and a little loss of chrome finish on one corner of the lineguard its a lovely little user reel, please view my other items for sale, item will be posted right away once paid for.

Very early vintage Hardy Perfect. Trout fishing Fly Fishing Reel Central spindle is the rare Tapered variation. i'm no expert but when measured with a vernier caliper the spindle base measures 7.44mm. Upper of spindle measures 7.24mm(dia) Reel has a spool diameter of 2.7/8" 5/8" width internal(if I'm correct) Reel face plate reads as follows"Hardy's Alnwick Patent" center of spool face reads"To Dismount. Turn screw" Internally and on rear of face plate the reel is marked 2, along with the initial"A.B" within a circle. A.B are the initials of Alfred Broadley. Period 1893 Handle is of Ivorine. Reel seat/foot is of brass and stamped"England" Other than the light age/old finish wear the Reel is in truly beautiful. Fully operative condition Ratchet check operates crisply. Spool rotates ... moresmoothly with no rubbing. the only very minor thing i will mention is a very light scratch near the central spool screw fastening.this was present prior to my ownership. good vintage JW youngs narrow condex trout fly fishing reel 3.25"
for sale here is a nice little condex made by JW youngs. 3.25" size with narrow drum, right wind,no line burns, centre drumscrew release, unfiled and straight foot, reel is very good undamaged with no buckles and aside from some very very minor paint loss its a lovely little clean and tight reel to use and with good check, please see my other listings of hardy and other vintage fishing items this week.

for sale here is a very very good and barely used system 1 trout fly reel. Its the 678# model, 3" 1" wide drum model 2 screw drum release, counterbalanced handle, smooth straight unfiled alloy foot, rear drag, made in england, left or right wind, overall very good barely used condition with no damage, buckles or flaws at all, winds perfect and smooth its a lovely little clean and tight reel to use and with good typical strong check all paint intact as can be seen. very nice example.comes with a blue neoprene pouch which is also good.please see my other listings of hardy and other vintage fishing items this week.

A1 vintage brass ebonite slater allcocks platewind trout fly fishing reel 2.5"
for sale here is a stunning and very rare little platewind style brass and ebonite trout reel. Surely made for allcocks by slater, tiny 2.5" very rare to see an ebonite allcocks, this is a particularly nice reel, allcocks stamp on frontplate, german nickel silver rims, typical slater pattern flat backplate with decorative circling, constant caliper check, full straight unfiled brass foot, cowhorn handle, nice little reel and winds well with good check, no buckles line burns or damage at all, ebonite is all good and clean with no chips etc, very nice example of a particularly rarely seen model. i have dressed it with some old line too for display, last foto) very nice little collectors lot this.please see my other listings of hardy and other vintage fishing items this week.
