The 2000 was one of seven of the series of free spool models. The reel was not serialized but stamped"Made in Sweden" on the foot. The large knurled aluminum knob is part of the drag system which was incorporated into the handle. By tightening the knob to a desired tension. You could apply drag washer pressure against the drive gear assembly which is similar to the conventional star drag wheel. Holding the handle still you will notice the knurled knob rotating when the fish made his run. This reel is rare to find in this condition in its original box. Here for auction we have a very tidy ABU GARCIA 505 closed face fishing reel. comes complete with its original box base tools and paperwork. Bought this from the USA some years ago in the chance I may find the box lid to complete the set its hard find but maybe you have one at home just waiting for all this to turn up. The shop owner told me it was on the display counter for years and some of his customers just used to pick it up out of the box and wind it. Some even put it on a rod to get a feel for it. Pictures show the foot shows a small amount of paint has been rubbed and there are a couple tiny nicks on the cowling. 1 tiny blemish in the anodizing. This model reel is from the late 1960's(68 to be precise) in 1967 ABU went over to a different ... morebigger box WHICH IS RECTANGULAR IN SHAPE not square like the early boxes. This box clearly shows you its before 1968 as it has no cut-out for a spare spool the svangsta reel I have listed shows one. Will make a great display item in any collectors cupboard. Abu Matic 140 Garcia Closed Face Spincast Reel Excellent Working Condition
This Abu-Matic 140 Closed Face Spin Cast Reel is in Excellent Working Condition It Has some marks and pitted holes on the front cover and some paint loss. But does not effect the operation of the reel in any way. It works perfectly. It has had a New Main Shaft fitted. It has a Red Star Wheel fitted in place of the Gold one that was broken. I have thrown in a copper front cover from a 120 that fits and works the same as the Gold one with the pit holes if you wish to replace it. A lot of work left in this great old reel made in Sweden. A GREAT looking vintage reel. ABU Garcia Cardinal C4, with 2 extra spools. Technical in nice working order, gearing. Perfect drag and so on and has a real slamming bail. When the anti-reverse is on it’s silent. When the anti-reverse is off it’s silent in both ways. It makes a bit more noise than a new reel, but it's fully functional. I think the pictures will tell the story of this reel. Just a musthave for the serious angler or collector. You won't see them very often in any condition. Showing some normal usagemarks. Vintage Abu Garcia Cardinal C5 Spinning Reel with Spare Spool This is an auction for an Abu Garcia Cardinal C5 Spinning Reel. With Spare Spool and makers box. The reel is in very good condition and appears hardly used. I cannot find any scratch marks or damage to the reel. The finish is maybe very slightly worn in places. But this would likely be resolved after a light clean and polish. The handle is interchangeable left and right hand wind. There is an anti reverse switch. There is the usual Cardinal drag control knob at the rear of the reel. The spool holds up to 160 yards of 17lbs BS line. Internally the reel appears very clean and it is possible that the reel has not been used before. The reel appears to be in very good working order. The reel has been made in Japan. With the foot number 84-01. The reel comes with a spare carbon graphite ... morespool. Also in very good condition. The reel also comes with the original makers box.
