Young's Pridex 3 1/4" Lightweight Fly Reel - Boxed
This Pridex Lightweight is in good mechanical condition and works perfectly. It shows signs of honest use in the overall finish. Still fitted with the original wire line guide and also a perfectly usable Gladding Aerofloat DT5F line. Probably past its best as a collector reel but ideal for the dry fly traditionalist angler The box also shows signs of age and a taped repair but is complete.

JW Young & Sons "Pridex" Fly Reel, excellent classic trout reel, one to use
Here we have a smooth working example of the JW Young& Sons"Pridex" Fly Reel. Really excellent small British trout reel, three and a half inches in diameter, one and one eighth inches in overall depth. A real quality classic item, probably over 50 years old now but in excellent condition, except some minor rubbing wear paint loss from use, a few minor dings and a little nibble out of the end of the reel foot, see photo. This fine looking reel works just as it should including the permanent check(no feeling of wear here) and quick release spool. These reels were I believe made in the 1950's and 1960's by the JW Young& Sons factory in Redditch. A classic small alloy trout fly reel just as it should be for catching fish.

Here is a nice scarce vintage fly fishing reel. It is in good honest used condition with most paint intact(see clear picture to decide before bidding) It is a Pridex reel by J.W. Young and Son of Redditch. It is in good working order with nice wind and is loaded with what I am told is old silk fly line. A nice little reel. Rarely seen for sale and nice in this size- one for the collection. Postage reflects the new Royal Mail price structure for this size of item to be posted and I will only send item signed for. for sale here is a good early grey pridex by JW youngs. Trout 3.5" size, 1/2" narrow drum model, circa 1960/64, patented early ergo grip handle, twin checks, full wraparound lineguard with no burns, left or right wind, ebonite centre boss has no cracks, 2 screw drum release, unfiled and straight foot, reel is very good undamaged with no buckles and most paint finish as seen, its a very good clean and tidy tight reel with good strong check, comes with canvas pouch, ready to be used for another 60+ years.please see my other listings of hardy and other vintage fishing items this week.

J.W YOUNG& SONS REDDITCH CONDEX 3 1/2" NARROW DRUM BIG BROWN See my!
