Up for action is an Ultra Rare Hardy All Brass Perfect measuring 2 5/8" in diameter. This size is actually referred to as the"Houghton" Dry Fly reel made for the elite Houghton Fishing Club who's members included Royals and Aristocrats sporting trout on the famed Thames River. England during the early 1890's. The reel is in near excellent but uncleaned condition as pictured, with no cracks anywhere. The reel's action is silky smooth with a strong click and adjustable drag with a creamy butter handle. Please take note that the center screw has broken off(as pictured) but can be easily repaired. The reel case is NOT included in the bidding.

here is a great 4 inch salmon reel made by jimmy smith reel maker at alnwick england. the reel is in fantastic working order with no play on spindle or any faults at all. The only thing i can see that i must point out is the tiny bit of pitting on the one part of the edge, you can see this in pics it really makes no difference to the reel at all. it has chunky black handle and ribbed brass foot. this is a sort after reel at a great price ready for the new season.i do not wish to put down any other salmon reels for sale on ebay but if you look you will see that the salmon perfects i have for sale are in far better condition compared to the others listed and far cheaper starting price. Up for auction is a Hardy Uniqua. The reel is 3 3/4 inches in diameter. And has a rim tension control and telephone latch. Mark II check, and stamped with the initials JRJ on the inside. Designed for right hand wind, but is currently set up as a left hand wind reel(it can be switch by simply reversing the pawl) The only real fault is the seat, which has been filed on both ends. Hello and welcome to the auction and thank you for viewing.This is for a rare Hardy fly reel clear acrylic shop display stand with Hardy fly within castle logo.This stand was I understand made for a shop to display a Hardy reel and is estimated to date from the 1970's.I have been informed that these stands are very rare and were usually retained by Hardys.Because of this I believe that they would never have been offered for sale as a retail item.The stand measures approximately 10cm.by 10.cm.by 2cm.deep.There is an original slot for the reel foot where the reel foot locates.The slot measures 6.3cm. by 1.5cm.They appear to have been made in two sizes for larger and smaller reels.There may well have been a small pad of black padding in foam or of a similar substance for the reel foot slot where the foot of the reel sits but there is no ... morepad present however any suitable material cut to size would suffice.I plan to list a similar Hardy stand for larger reels which has a slightly bigger reel foot slot which is located in a different position.Please ignore any camera reflections in the photograph.The stand weighs 215 grams unpacked.A rare Hardy item few of which I would think are in general circulation. This reel is un-named but it a Grice& Young pattern Centrepin Reel. It is lightweight and is made of alloy. As you can see the backplate and front face of the spool have a black crinkle finish. The reel is 3" in diameter. Has twin marbled plastic handles with an alloy spine and reel seat. There is a selective Ratchet swith on the backlplate and it has a brass locking screw and hub plate. Vintage Hardy 4 1/4" Perfect Salmon Fly Reel. Duplicated MkII Check Mechanism.
I have for sale a 4 1/4" Hardy Perfect Salmon Fly Reel with a wide spool. The reel has the Duplicated Mk II Check Mechanism. It has a smooth brass foot. Nickle silver reverse thread drum locking screw, a rim mounted tension adjuster, Ebonite handle and a rotating nickle silver line guide. The reel has at some stage been put away wet and this has caused some staining to the face of the reel as well as the two spots of corrosion to the rim which I have mentioned above. I am sure the face can be cleaned up if you wish to make it more presentable. The two bites of corrosion are shown in picture 6. Picture 7 shows another view of the area above the pillar. There remains a good depth of metal to the rim and whilst it would be folly to say those areas have not been weakened by this. They do not render the reel unusable. There is no chance of ... morethis failing under normal use. The foot has been lightly filed at one end. There is no excessive play in the reel. I would describe it as a good usable reel. Was a Winfield Reel everybody's first fishing reel? Of course not. I keep forgetting that some young fishermen probably cannot even remember Woolworth's! This is a Woolworth's. Winfield 3 1/4" Dry Fly Reel. The reel is maroon in colour with a creamy white hub and winding handle. It has been used but only very lightly. There is, as stated above a small area around the rear hub where the paint has flaked. It is otherwise excellent and has a lovely adjustable drag system. The reel comes in its original and striking.
