Basically this is a 300 with a slightly higher gear ratio. 4.2:1 and a gasket between the body and side plate. There were many slightly different versions of 300A produced by Mitchell from 1977/78 right through the 80's& 90's Used but still i n excellen t good working order. Free. Silky s mooth and very quiet to wind. Good crisp bail return and the optional anti reverseis silent on this i one and locks as it should. The lettering on t he name plate is really good. Although the red line on the roto r is missing in place the information is all readable. The paint on the AR lever is rubbed but the reat of the black finish is generally very good. That said there are small scuff marks on the foot and the usual rubbing on the lower edge of the housing, see pictures for details. I have other reels that may interest you. Hi folks you are looking at my auction for the fantastic: GARCIA MITCHELL 300A DOUBLE SILVER BAND. This was manufactured in France early 80s from memory. Hi there your looking at one nice example of this classic 300A fishing reel. It has only had one user(myself) and since I moved away from the Midlands it has sat in a case in a dry draw in the house. It remains in great condition. MECHANICALLY SPOT ON AND IN EXCELLENT WORKING ORDER. She has a beautiful silky smooth and free left-handed wind. Sorry to bidders/ watcher on my other ad but booked a late holiday for next week so would not be about to post item so have relisted it to finish when i get back. Brought by long gone dad in the mid 1980 and only used a couple of times before he passed away so immaculate not a mark on it the serial number is K309411 and have another one K326411. Choose the one you want been in the shed for the last 20 odd years. This is a up rated version of the Mitchell 300 with a higher gear ratio of 4.2:1 and a gasket between the body and side plate. Free to winding and very s mooth and quiet. Good crisp bail return as it should with so little use still has original grease. The spool holder has no paint loss on the front edge, the spool transfer is very good to perfect none worn away. Comes with a 300A booklet. The cover plate and badge Mitchell 300A is very good. The bail arm chrome is bright. The anti reverse works as it should. The Twist plastic handle is good. The arm is the the aluminium screw type. The spool fitted is a deep white(ish) spool. Mitchell Reel Handle. With Dust Cap. A few minor marks on the alloy handle and wear on the plastic handle knob and screw commensurate with age. Where applicable the Hi-speed red/ blue decal on the reel hub may be scratched or missing. This is a cosmetic anomaly commensurate with the age and used of the reclaimed handle, the price has been reduced to take this into account Unlike most handles of this type that come up on E-Bay as spares there is no deformity or bending in the handle shafts. I only kept the good handles for re-use and chucked the bent and battered ones in the bin. Going for a bargain price to clear shelf space in my new shed workshop. This reel came from inland USA and has never seen salt water. Therefore shows no signs of corrosion.
