The 2000 was one of seven of the series of free spool models. The reel was not serialized but stamped"Made in Sweden" on the foot. The large knurled aluminum knob is part of the drag system which was incorporated into the handle. By tightening the knob to a desired tension. You could apply drag washer pressure against the drive gear assembly which is similar to the conventional star drag wheel. Holding the handle still you will notice the knurled knob rotating when the fish made his run. This reel is rare to find in this condition in its original box. SCARCE 2 1/4" Vintage / Antique Brass 'ENRIGHT & SON' Platewind Fishing Reel.
This is another very old Vintage/ Antique brass 2 1/4" ENRIGHT& SONS' platewind fishing reel. It is clearly stamped on the front plate with the maker's name; ENRIGHT& SON- CASTLE CONNELL' This particular reel dates back to around pre 1880(could be earlier) After this date they stamped their name within an oval logo. Enright& Son' can be found in Phil Waller's book; Fishing Reels' Collecting for all' Vol. 1 pages 39. The reel turns very smoothly with no rubbing. The back plate has the oil hole for servicing the reel. There is a very slight ding to the edge of the back plate which can hardly be seen. The foot is in excellent condition and has the cut away design of that early era. The is no corrosion or pitting to the reel. The handle/knob is in excellent condition with no splits or cracks. Antique S Allcock Brass Centre Wooden Ratcheted 3" Fishing Reel
Antique S. Allcocks ratchet. Wooden and brass reel. Found this reel today in my Fathers shed. He no longer uses it so i've given it a polish and its offered here today. It has a 3 inch diameter. Brass is stamped as shown in the photos. Original boxwood handles with brass rings are in good condition. Ratchet works although the reel is a bit stiff to wind as expected. I'd imagine it needs some tlc after all these years. A nice fresh to the market find. Don't miss out! Offered at a low start price with no reserve so it will find its own value. The reel measures approx 2 3/8" in diameter and is just over 1" deep excluding the handle. Condition: The reel winds well both ways(there is no check) And has a nice patina. This is a very old fishing reel in Bakelite(we think) and brass. It has a brake stop lever but it doesn't work so we think something is missing. Probably a spring to pull the brake stop into position. Otherwise it is a lovely old reel without damage or chips. I have again started to clear more of my vast reel collection. I now offer this RARE QUALITY Vintage/ Antique JEWELLED- GERMAN SILVER'SOUTH BEND' Fishing Reel. Style 1131A, With its Leather case. Both are in excellent condition! It was made by the'South Bend Bait Co. in the USA around 1907. This reel is over 100 years old. The foot is clearly stamped with; PAT'D SEPT 5 1905& FEB 5 1907' It is made from German Silver and has Red Agate Jewells on the front& back faces. It has a check mechanism and when engaged gives an audible clicking sound. It winds very smoothly with no rubbing. It also has adjustable drag and the knob/handle is also in excellent condition with no cracks or splits. The edges of the reel shows NO signs of wear. The front face is clearly marked with; South Bend Bait Co. and South Bend Ind. Here we have for auction a 4" Marcus Warrick Nottingham fishing reel in an absolutely beautiful condition complete with beautifully marked. Caramel coloured horn handles set on petite brass plates, thick cut curved copper brass to the starback, recesed deep spool with butterfly latch, deeply set- brass lined to the backplate& convexed brass flange to the spool, brass calliper, large steel pawl and pawl gear- always a sign of quality and a ventilated spool which finishes this off perfectly! This quality reel has a very strong optional check that when switched over sounds a nice firm click with a chime from the brass. With the check off the spool turns nice& smooth on the turn and one good spin will see the spool return many revolutions with absolutely no wobble! Antique/ Vintage Mahogany. Brass, Aluminium Fishing Reel 7.5 cm across This is a mahogany. Brass and aluminium fishing reel, maker unknown. It has a lever at the side to turn the click ratchet on and off. I don't recall seeeing one of this type with an aluminium sheet attachment to the rod before. But it seems original. Aluminium was a pretty expensive metal before about 1900 so possibly this reel dates to the 1920s 0r 1930s. No makers mark. Size: about 7.5 cm in diameter(3 inches) Weight: 123 grammes Condition: as seen in pictures- needs a clean. Everything works. There is one small screw missing that holds the aluminium cross plate to the back of the reel. And the ratchet lever is threaded at the end so probably originally has a knob on the end, now gone. ANTIQUE ROSEWOOD 4-LINE "FURNISHED" FISHING REEL - V.G.C.
A rare solid and polished rosewood 4-line hand-held fishing reel with grooved and notched slide lid and storage compartments for shots/hooks/plummet. Finely turned bone line-winding spindles and numerous delicately cut slots to the edges of the outer side panels for retention of line/gut when fishing. An identical reel is illustrated in my 1907 copy of the Army& Navy Stores catalogue in which it is referenced as being a"Four Line Furnished Reel" Overall it is in very good and undamaged condition- with only light signs of possible earlier use and age patination.
