Mitchell 3rd version reel A nice example of this classic reel. M ade by Mitchell in France 1950- 52. Serial number B81958. Used but still in really good working order. Just add line if you want to use it. It winds smoothly with a lovely gentle pur from the crosswind gears. The bail returns nicely when you wind the handle and the optional anti reverse locks as it should. Much of t he black paint finish remains but there are rubbed areas showing red primer in places. ARARE MEPPS VAMP MODEL 1 WITH HALF BAIL. TECHNICALLY IT WAS NOT THE FIRST MODEL AS THE ORIGINAL HAD A FINGER PICK UP OTHERWISE THE REELS WERE THE SAME, I THINK THESE REELS WERE BUILT BRIEFLY IN THE LATE 1930'S AND ARE EXCEPTIONALLY RARE TO FIND. THE REEL IS IN VERY GOOD USED CONDITION, THERE IS THE USUAL TARNISHING TO THE ALLOY BODY, THE ROTOR CUP RETAINS VIRTUALLY ALL ITS ORIGINAL COLOUR. THERE IS SOME LOSS OF FINISH ON THE SPOOL KNOB, OTHERWISE THE REEL IS IN SUPER WORKING CONDITION. FULL UNFILED FOOT. SORRY NO BUY IT NOW! Vintage Mitchell Half Bail- Fishing Reel - No Serial Number looks like a K
Mitchell Half Bail Fishing Reel. Boomerang anti reverse lever: There is no serial number only what appears to be a K on the foot. Its a old half bail reel. That works smoothly, lots of pictures to decide its worth to you. T he reel has some paint missing although its fairly good considering its very old. The bail arm is brass and chrome with a lot of marks. The anti reverse works as it should. The winding arm works as it should. It is in fairly good condition, and does fold back. The reel comes with a spool fitted which has an Aluminium base and the early shaped ratchet. The reel is a very old working serviced fishing reel. If you have any questions, please ask.

Mitchell Half Bail Fishing Reel with a teflon gear and a spare spool in a screw top alum can. The serial number on the back of the body is C64431. I have included lot`s of photo`s so you can see the condition which i think is good for its age. It has been serviced and operates smoothly and could be used to fish with. The bail arm chrome is fairly good. The body paintwork is worn in places. It is a nice working and half bail reel. Which is probally 60 plus years old. If you have any questions please ask.

Vintage Mitchell Pre300 Half Bail 2nd Version Reel & S/ Spool Extremely Rare.
a very nice extremely rare Vintage 2nd version Mitchell Pre 300 half bail reel with the spare spool cased. Mitchell Pre 300 marking. From 1940's the reel foot is marked with the number 5,the reel has the round anti reverse knob and the spool case lid it just pushes on not a threaded lid. The reel is in excellent condition for its age and they are getting hard to find now days, it does show some signs of ageing and wear, small paint loss/fine marks/ scratches/rubs and some brassing on the bail wire, this aside it is what is considered an Extremely Rare 2nd version reel, that operates nicely as it should, the spare spool and case still look in near new condition. Rare Early Vintage - Mitchell Half Bail Fishing Reel + spare spool & teflon gear
Mitchell Half Bail Fishing Reel with spare spool. I can see no serial number on the foot only and what looks like a F. On the back of the body there are some numbers and it looks like it starts with a C then a 4 the rest I can not read. The reel has a Teflon gear. Also included is an aluminium gear in case you want to use the reel, the Teflon gear came with the reel. the sprung handle works well and has a plastic twist handle. The thicker early type, possibly the original, but who can be sure. I have included lot`s of photo`s so you can see the condition which is good for a old reel. The bail arm chrome is fairly good with some marks and wear. It is a nice working and complete half bail reel. Which is probally 60 plus years old. If you have any questions please ask.

a very nice Vintage Mitchell Pre(300) half bail reel 3rd Version Serial Number B49599 1950.S a few minor marks on the bail wire and else where, this aside looks Near New condition doesn't look like it has been mounted on a rod the best I have seen, shows no wear to speak of.

a very nice vintage Mitchell Pre 300 fishing reel half bail 3rd Version S/N A68806 from the 1950.S Pre 300 it also comes with a rare early box top it has some stains rubs scratches and some wear to the edges however the box is good and strong and has the handle holder still inside overall good condition and the bottom box in poor condition and is missing the reel insert portion the reel does show some wear it has some paint rubs to the rotor foot lower case a small dint on the front of the spool i will supply a good used spool in place of the dinted one the handle knob stuck from turning appears to be from lack of use this aside the reel looks a treat and operates fine it is in excellent condition and would make a very nice addition to any Mitchell reel collection.

Rare Early Vintage - Mitchell Half Bail Fishing Reel 7 on foot
Mitchell Half Bail Fishing Reel with Early spool. The gear that drives the spool holder is Aluminium not brass. So that part is early. The handle is fairly good with a plastic twist handle. I can see no serial number on the foot or back of the body and can not date it in the normal way there is a 7 on the foot. I have included lot`s of photo`s so you can see the condition. It has been serviced and operates smoothly and could be used to fish with. The bail arm chrome is fairly pitted and poor. The body paintwork is worn in lots of places, there seems to be a red undercoat. It is a nice working and complete half bail reel. Which is probally 60 plus years old and as such fairly reasonable. Mitchell Half Bail Fishing Reel. What do you do with a reel that has very little paint left on it and looks awful, POLISH IT! the red primer and what was left of the paint would not come off easily, so some remnants remain as does some of its battle scars and corrosion(cover plate) from over the years. I can not see a serial number on the foot or body only what looks like a S. I have included lot`s of photo`s so you can see the condition. It has been serviced and operates smoothly and could be used to fish with. The bail arm chrome is fairly pitted and poor. The handle is the sprung type with a twist handle. The shallow spool has the later heart shaped ratchet and aluminium base plate with no made in France on it. It is a nice working and complete half bail reel. a very nice pre 300 Mitchell half bail reel serial number B30403 in a box with a spare spool and case the reel maybe lightly used tho it doesn't show much and is in excellent lovely condition the spare spool and case are in excellent condition the box top shows some age wear stains worn corners but is still in good condition the reel insert/box bottom has the dark blue lettering and shows wear it has some large tears around where the reel and spool sit and some marks and oil stains it does have Fair Trading Made in France on the under side this would make a nice addition to a Mitchell reel collection international postage insurance in an additional AUD$12.10

Vintage Mitchell Fishing Reel Half Bail Consists of 2nd & 3rd Very Rare
a very rare Mitchell(Pre)300 Reel 2nd or 3rd version half bail is this a transition model reel I am not sure it appears to consists of 2nd/3rd Version reel parts it does show some wear it has paint loss marks and rubs to the cases foot leg spool and rotor. Worn bail wire chrome it does show some mechanical wear and operates roughly while winding the bail wire trips fine and the a/r works fine, it has what appears to be a 3rd version case with serial number 5 on the foot and rotor a 2nd version side cover plate and 2nd version internal gears the reel looks a treat and they are still hard to find in this condition i think it would make a very nice addition to a Mitchell reel collection please look closely at all 11 pictures as they form a part of the reels overall condition. please note postage insurance is at additional cost On 09-Feb-15 at ... more19:34:44 AEDST.
