Collectible and functional, and a MUST HAVE for the reel collector. This reel was the flagship for the Bronson Reel Company. It made it's first appearance in the 1939 Field and Stream catalog. It was their most expensive reel. And modifications were made quickly resulting in Models 25-C, 25-2 etc. This reel was manufactured for less than 2 years and prior to the war effort. The branding of the"JA Coxe" label was poorly done. And the design company fired for the problems in reading the name. Vintage JA Coxe Model 420 L - 200 Yds Casting Fishing Reel Star Drag Made in USA
We have a vintage J A COXE fishing reel. Casting model 420 L, 200 yard capacity, made in Bronson, Michigan, USA. Patent Appl For. The reel functions great, it has a good solid click, a star drag, and it's a heavy, well made reel. The reel is complete and ready to use. Cosmetically, it is missing quite a bit of chrome and the screws have a little damage from adjustments. The handle is good and the bakelite knob has no damage or cracks. I tried to show in the photos the condition and the camera actually accentuates the flaws. Both side plates are probably bakelite and are in good condition with no cracks. I think the metal is chrome plated brass, it's fairly heavy and very solid. Feel free to email for additional info or photo. Vintage JA Coxe Invader 26 Fishing Reel, Tough Find, Nice!
Here is the Bronson made JA Coxe Invader 26. This is a highly collectible and very sought after reel! The Bronson version of the Invader 26 and the JA Coxe version are basically the same reel. Except for the name. This particular reel is in very nice condition with the red anodized head and tail plate. It has the nice ivory colored beauty spacers, black spool, black level wind guard, and black crank handle. This reel functions as it should along with the free-spool button, drag, and click. It shows some typical light wear on the red-anodized finish and on the chrome plates on sides of the reel. Overall it is very beautiful and hard to find the Coxe version. JA Coxe - Bronson Jaleoxe Model 630 fishing reel - no reserve
Nice working Jaleoxe Model 630 fishing reel. Very good construction. And a well made and sturdy reel. As you can see in the pics, it does have salt water corrosion on the spool which might be able to be sanded and polished out. It needs a cleaning, but the rest of the reel appears to be free of scratches and dings. Star drag and clicker switch works great. If I had use for a reel this size I think I'd keep it and try to fix it up and use it, but alas that's not the case. I do not have box and papers, what you see in the pics is exactly what you get. Since I don't know much about this brand, I'm selling as is, no returns. I will be happy to answer any questions as best I can.
