I am selling a Nottingham Star back fishing reel. It came out of a loft and had probably been there for decades. The reel has no makers name on it but is extremely well crafted. An Alcock? I have again started to clear out a number of my collections. Here we have an old Antique/ Vintage English wooden and brass'Nottingham' style fishing reel in excellent working condition for its age. It has great patina with NO splits or cracks in the wood and both knobs also in great condition. The reel turns freely with no rubbing against the rim. It has no manufactures name. It has an optional check button when engaged gives a loud clicking sound. I would estimate it's age at around the early 1900's. It measures 3 1/2" 9cm. in diameter and 1 3/4" 4.5cm. wide.
