The vintage reel features a finely detailed fishing scene engraved into both side plates. The heavy duty stub caster is approximately 9-1/2" long and is attached to the reel. But it is removable. The caster has a brass tone finish and a forefinger rest designed like a trigger. The original cork gripper is covering the handle, but part of the cork is broken off at the end The reel looks to be in good working order. It has been used and could use a good cleaning. But overall, it is in very good condition. All parts are working as they should and move freely. The original grayish green bakelite knobs are both intact, and there is a half empty spool of old fishing line left in it, which needs to be removed. The attached rod handle has a lot of little dings over the frame. In addition to the broken end of the cork handle. The side plates of the reel feature matched engraved fishing scenes. The top right of the scene shows two fisherman sitting in a boat. The bottom left side of the scene shows"the big one" being pulled out of the water. A fishing line stretches between the fish's mouth and the end of the fisherman's pole. Joining the two figures in the scene together. The ornate engraving also includes trees standing in the background and lines etched to look like reflections in the water. Sea plants are engraved into the scene forming the top of the lake and the plants also serve as a border for the bottom edge of the reel. Vintage JC Higgins Fishing Tackle Box
You are bidding on a vintage JC Higgins fishing tackle box. It is black in color and 19x9x10 in overall size. It features 2 foldout trays per side with a total of 21 lure compartments altho they are repositionable to fit your needs. There is no rust on this inside but does have some surface rust on the bottom(see 5th pic) but overall is a very solid box. It does have a key with the lockable hasp. However the hasp is broken and showed in position for the first pic for reference only but can be reattatched if you like. The other two hasp do work great and closes the box perfectly. Overall this is a very nice and sound vintage tackle box that would make an excellent addition to anyone's vintage tackle collection. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!

Two vintage fishing rod handles JC higgins, Waltco, Bakelite
Up for offer 2 vintage fishing rod handles. They look to be made of aluminum with plastic or bakelite. Will describe best as possible. Look at pictures. Ask questions. Will reply. O.K top handle the black one, looks to be a J.C Higgins has the markings of a jc higgins. But does not have the marking J.C Higgins on handle. Possibly made by J.C Higgins for someone else. The screw and metal lip that is used to secure reel to rod is missing. Possibly made by them for someone else? The bottom handle or the white handle looks to be Waltco rod handle, possibly Waltco Glasscaster. The white plastic or bakelite part of handle that the rod goes into has a crack, but is not loose. Also the handle part on one side has like cracking or age lines. Still tight does not move around, looks not to distract from the handle. Hopefully you can see any flaws in ... morethe photo's. Up for bidding is this vintage JC HIGGINS Tackle Box that was made for Sears Roebuck& Co. back in the 1950's. The top tray has a unique patented tray. Made to hold lures with treble hooks. It flips up to put lures in or take them out and when down allows for storage underneath it. The tackle box is made of Aluminum and has some bents and the paint shows signs of wear.See photo's for details. It's 16" long x 8" wide and 7" high. There is a Key included. As the tackle box has a lock on the front. The key seems to fit, but the lock doesn't work. With a little oil and cleaning it should resolve this minor issue. This is a great display piece for your vintage tackle. Being aluminum, it is extremely lightweight. There are stains, some rust stains from contents(probably old steel stringers) in the bottom, but aluminum itself does not rust so the box is not compromised from any self-corrosion. There are dents. Scratches, but the back hinge is extremely strong, and front latches work. the inside mechanism for shelving is all in good workable condition. Vintage JC Higgins 6 1/2' Fly Fishing Rod in Tube
This Pole was my Great-Grandfathers. I know very little about fly fishing or vintage poles. This is marked"JC Higgins T.M. 654. SEARS ROEBUCK AND CO AND SIMPSONS SEARS, LTD" It measures 6-1/2' long and all the thread wrapping seem to be in good condition, the last photo show's where the thread is fraying a bit where it stops one wrapping and a single thread is wrapped up the pole to another wrapping. This thread is as pictured. The tube measures 3' 10-1/2" in length and approx. a 2" diameter. I assume the tube is about the same age as the pole, the green end cap is marked"TED" as the side of the tube is also marked"Ted's Pole" both which seem to be written in some type of wax marker. can scrape off with finger nail. Vintage JC Higgins Fishing Reel 312.3184 w/ Engraved Plates& Cork Handle Caster Item Description: Vintage JC Higgins Casting Reel with Engraved Fishing Scene Includes Caster with Old Cork Covered Handle Model Nbr: 312.3184 This old ornately engraved casting reel has the J C Higgins signature engraved on the frame and the catalog number 312.3184 engraved beside it. The vintage reel features a finely detailed fishing scene engraved into both side plates. The heavy duty stub caster is approximately 9-1/2" long and is attached to the reel. But it is removable. The caster has a brass tone finish and a forefinger rest designed like a trigger. The original cork gripper is covering the handle, but part of the cork is broken off at the end The reel looks to be in good working order. It has been used and could use a good cleaning. But overall, ... moreit is in very good condition. All parts are working as they should and move freely. The original grayish green bakelite knobs are both intact, and there is a half empty spool of old fishing line left in it, which needs to be removed. The attached rod handle has a lot of little dings over the frame. In addition to the broken end of the cork handle. The side plates of the reel feature matched engraved fishing scenes. The top right of the scene shows two fisherman sitting in a boat. The bottom left side of the scene shows"the big one" being pulled out of the water. A fishing line stretches between the fish's mouth and the end of the fisherman's pole. Joining the two figures in the scene together. The ornate engraving also includes trees standing in the background and lines etched to look like reflections in the water. Sea plants are engraved into the scene forming the top of the lake and the plants also serve as a border for the bottom edge of the reel. An engraved garland of oak leaves wraps around the entire top third of the plate. Forming an ornate border around the design and framing the fishing scene. Vintage fishing pole rod reel JC Higgins collapsible backpacking telescoping
ESTATE FIND JC Higgins 30/60 rod with a Bronson No. 100 reel. This classic collapsible tubular steel rod was marketed by Sears. Roebuck& Co. under their J.C. Higgins brand beginning in the early 1940's. The handle is reversible for use as either a fly or casting rod. It extends to 9' as a fly rod. And can be set at whatever length you want for bait casting. The rod has measures 31" when collapsed. The rod pieces are made of epoxy coated steel. The reel is a Bronson"MODERN" No.100 level wind fishin g reel. This was the first model of reel made by B ronson in 1922. You are buying on the exact items show in the photos.
