Vintage - Garcia Mitchell Match (Stripped & Polished) High Speed Fishing Reel
A Garcia Mitchell Match(stripped and polished) high Speed fishing reel. With two roller bearings and the higher speed retrieval gears, longer arm and torpedo handle. Stainless steel screws on the cover plate. It has been paint stripped and polished(not easy as normal paint stripper does not touch the paint used on later Mitchell reels) its not a perfect mirror polish as it is cast aluminum and can only be polished to a point. It looks great and could be used without fear of damaging any paintwork, it has been serviced and works well. The reel has a shallow match spool fitted. The bailarm. Anti reverse and bail arm lock works as it should, the bail arm chrome is fairly good and bright with a few marks and wear. A nice vintage match reel to use. Vintage Garcia Mitchell 300A Match Fishing Reel - Lovely vintage reel!
Hi folks you are looking at my auction for the fantastic: GARCIA MITCHELL 300A DOUBLE SILVER BAND. This was manufactured in France early 80s from memory. Hi there your looking at one nice example of this classic 300A fishing reel. It has only had one user(myself) and since I moved away from the Midlands it has sat in a case in a dry draw in the house. It remains in great condition. MECHANICALLY SPOT ON AND IN EXCELLENT WORKING ORDER. She has a beautiful silky smooth and free left-handed wind. However the manual bail arm return's doesnt always go back to the full position but it does work. Also the optional anti-reverse lever lock's in with a instant once engaged just like it should. And the Manual pick-up produce's a delightful anti-reverse ticking from the Mitchell gearing. She has some paint rubbing to both ends of the foot. ... moreAlso has minor marks around the double silver foil information band and in other areas. Besides that the rest of the black paint finish and chrome work is in excellent condition as you can see. The end of the handle is looking a bit faded but works as it should. The serial number is unclear. Stainless steel screws on the cover plate. The paint is missing in various places. It has been well used. The reel has a shallow match spool fitted. The bailarm. A classic Garcia Mitchell Match L high speed auto fishing reel with a plastic twist handle. This reel is the rarer Match L that is held in the left hand and reeled with the right hand. The serial number is unclear. Stainless steel screws on the cover plate. The reel has been stripped not easy as paint stripper does not work. Then polished as best as you can cast aluminium, with some paint left in tight nooks, it can be used without damaging paintwork, or re-sprayed or further polished. The reel has a shallow match spool fitted. The bailarm. Anti reverse works as it should. The bail arm chrome is fair with some several marks and wear.
