Has cool spring loaded reel seat that works well. I have used this rod here in NW Montana with a 9wt line for pike and bull trout and can assure you it has good fishy mojo! Comes with G Loomis tube and sock. Rod is overall in good used shape, with normal scratches etc. Wraps and guides all solid. Cork is starting to ridge and wear a bit. Ferrule fits securely. Up for auction is a VINTAGE HEDDON SPIN PAL 200 SPINNING REEL. It comes in the ORIGINAL BOX. Which is a real dandy display box. Also has the ORIGINAL INSTRUCTION BOOKLET AND HEDDON TOOL. Both in excellent shape. Tool allows handle for right or left handed use. Pics show handle on each side. This is a RARE& UNIQUE REEL. The reel has some paint loss mainly due to laying around/tackle box? Please review the pictures thoroughly and bid accordingly. I try and illiustrate the reel and all sides of box adequately so no surprises! The reel is mechanically sound- and functions nicely as designed. 2 Heddon Pal Brute Stick No. 6299 Fishing Rods Specials?
Here is a pair of rods. I could not find much information on them. They are Heddon Pal Brute Sticks. The action on these rods is marked Power Plus. Other than the number which is 6299. There is no much info such as class, line rating, etc. I do not know if these are normal or custom or what. The markings look well made and appear to be factory. One rod is 7 foot 1 inch and the other one is 6 foot 5 inch. I do not know what to think about the odd lengths and I could not find any info on these. I am thinking these are Heddon specials. I took lots of pics that should show condition well. I would be glad to send more pics or answer questions. If you have any information please let me know and I will add it to the post. Used Heddon Pal 7' 6" fiberglass fly rod
For auction is a vintage 2 piece Heddon Pal fiberglass fly rod. The label reads Heddon Pal#8353 MarkII- 7 1/2' Fas-Tip Action Line-D-HDH or HDG. The lettering is quite clear. Seems like a 6 weight. Both pieces are the same length. The wraps are weathered. But tight, guides intact. The cork handle is stained through use, I'll let you clean that off if you want to. The reel seat has a cool copper cast to it, and has a neat spring-loaded release which moves well. It has a plain metal stripper guide, and now I notice that the hook-keeper has been pulled out on one side. Never noticed that when I fished it. The tube is original and is in pretty nice worn shape considering. Nice"James Heddon's Sons" label which is not filled out. Comes with the lid also. No sock. With its original canvas case(w/paper Label) and cardboard protective tube. All original. And NICE. The rod has a number on it: D-9 and#657.5 M. Which correspond to what is written on the cases' paper label( provenance) The rod is metal with original paint(made to look like Bamboo) Original guides and windings with red eyes and Heddon Pal handle. The rod has 4 RED EYES and they appear to be glass. But I'm not sure. Rod measures 50 inches. The case is canvas and is in reasonably good condition. Showing some age and staining. The end has a hole, but it's not too big. The case also has a paper label sewn on it- see pictures. This label is fragile and tattered. ... moreNote: Part of the paper label states. proper distribution of steel. The wall thickness in the lower half of the rod.is thicker than the upper half. Patented feature of Heddon's. There is a cardboard tube that will slide into the case and there's a cork plug at the end. The handle is a Heddon Pal. The cork has been slightly cleaned and waxed— so it displays well. The handle measures 11.5 inches. The handle's cork doesn't show any hook marks. This Heddon Pal. Especially with its case& label will make a great addition to your display. I don't know the exact shipping weight until I actually package it. So it may be a little less than ebay's shipping calculator comes up with. I don't profit on shipping. Also. The canvas case will be in well packaged to no further damage will occur. VINTAGE HEDDON SPIN PAL 240 MANUAL BAIL (WITH BOX)--GOOD CONDITION..
Good working condition: Drag works good as well as clicker and anti-reverse. Reel turns as it should and is in fine working condition. Some paint loss in various places and top box corner as you can see in photo has been compromised. Otherwise box is in good sturdy condition. The part of the reel that has no paint as in the drag knob on top of spool and foot stem where it attaches to rod is suppose to be like that and was done by design by Heddon to give the reel some contrast from the black paint to give it a classier look!
