There is no"boat rash" ... moreMechanically, it is excellent. It is equipped with an aluminum spool and has a wide thumb rest. It has stainless steel ball bearings and an instant anti-reverse. The drag is smooth, as is the level winding mechanism, which rides on a nickel plated guide rod. There is an anti backlash adjustment, which helps to prevent the"birds nesting" that wastes so much fishing time. This is made in Sweden. There is some loss of info on the band that lists the amount of line the reel holds in each line size. This info is available on line, but I will list it here. It holds 205 yds. of 12 lb. test, 180 yds. of 14 lb. test, and 130 yds. of 17 lb. test. The serial number is 100011/14. This is the reel in the pictures and the one the buyer will receive. There is some wear.The covers show light surface rubbing signs and the top right hand corner areas mild creasing.There are light staining signs to the top margins in places and some scattered marking which is mainly to the covers.The last two pages show four patches of thinning and the parts list in English and Swedish shows two small surface scuffs(one to each page) to the printed text.The staple is sound.It shows a bit of rust. Another most reluctant sale but needs must. From my personal collection. Up for auction is this rare Abu Ambassadeur 5000 4 screw fat black arbour model in good condition. The smooth foot number is 163659. There were very few 4 screw 5000 reels sold with this type of spool hence this reel is quite a rare find and comes complete with original case, paperwork, tube with parts and oil tube which is almost empty. The reel shows some light wear and tear and the right plate is a little faded which I have tried to show in the pictures. That said, I would say the reel is in good to very good used condition and it's in perfect working order. Starting at a very low starting price, I will not end the auction early and there is no buy it now so please don't ask. Rare Abu Ambassadeur 5000c 4 screw model. foot number 34686. Rare. Vintage ambassadeur 5000c, 4 screw version. foot number 34686. a super chance to add to your vintage reel collection here with this very early ambassadeur dating from the 1960's. Superb working order. Still a great smooth reel to fish with but probably destined for the cabinet. Lovely chrome sits well against the black side plates and handle, smooth clutch and tough gearing allow you to play your catch, whilst the stainless bearings allow for some smooth casting. Dual tension control aids casting too whatever the conditions or lure size. The chrome is in very good clean condition, the plates have had scattered wear sympathetically touched in to avoid future issues. Once again a great reel to fish or collect.
