Many young anglers had an Intrepid Black Prince as their first reel. It is a fixed Drum Spinning Reel and has a very simple design that retains many of Morritt’s classic features from the Intrepid range including anti-reverse. It weighs 260 grams unpacked. Original MITCHELL 410A Fixed Spool coarse reel - fully working order.
This is a fully original working classic Mitchell 410A fixed spool coarse reel being disposed of as is now surplus to my requirement. After 30 years in the tackle trade and life-long fan of Mitchells I have accumulated around 20 from 320s to 840s. But with less time to fish it is now time to have a good clear-out. The reel is well used and whilst retaining all foil decals they are well worn and no longer readable. It is a late model of the 1980s with the fast retrieve folding Torpedo handle. And wide drag knob on the spool. Lever anti-reverse and roller bail-arm. slight damp corrosion pitting on reel seat and near rear grease screw and bottom of housing. But with positive bail arm,working anti reverse and drag- totally operational in full working order and ready for use. I have not attempted to clean or grease up and leave that for the new ... moreowner. This is not mint enough as a collectors item. But there to be used, OR in view of the current price of Mitchell Spares could be broken up to repair or refurb other reels.

Vintage Mitchell 302, Saltwater, Fixed Spool Sea Fishing Spinning Reel.
This is a good working example of the Mitchell 302. Saltwater Spinning Reel. It is a fixed spool reel and is in good working order but as stated above the winding action is a bit stiff because of the congealed grease inside the mechanism. The bail arm operates correctly. There is some loss of finish to the paintwork as can be seen on the side plate. This reel is held in the right hand and wound with the left. It is not ambidextrous. If you have any questions. Ltd" The Exalta" Fixed Spool Reel This lovely"The Exalta" reel is in"as found" condition and has not been restored or repaired by us. The reel shows some minor losses to the original paint finish. Mainly to the spool housing. The side plate has the"Hardy" trademark, model details and"Brit. Pat. No. 772886" The reel still revolves well. But has small"rub" at one point. The bail works as it should and there are no chips or cracks to the alloy spool. The bakelite handle is well attached with no splits and the optional check mechanism works fine. Internally. Vintage DAM Quick Super, Twin Speed, Fixed Spool Reel. Spiiner, Beach Caster
This is a DAM. Quick Super Surf Reel. It is a Beachcasting Reel and is made in West Germany. The reel is used and carries the marks and scars you might expect from a used reel. There is no evidence of excessive corrosion which can sometimes blight these reel. The reel is a twin speed reel and by moving the red knob you can change the retrieval rates. They are about 2-1 or 3 1/2- 1. The bail arm closes efficiently but as said above the reel sounds a bit like a diesel car rather than a petrol car. It may benefit from some internal greasing. Early Alcedo No 2, Erie 2C, Italian Fixed Spool Reel.
There was a rumour that this reel formed the basis upon which Hardy Brothers designed their Altex or was it the Exalta Fixed Spool Reel. Anyway the reel on offer here is the Italian Made Alcedo 2. Fixed Spool Reel, Model ERIE 2C. The reel is a left hand wind reel and has an alloy body which is in a blue grey colour. It has an alloy winding handle which is locked into place via a knurled nut on the drive spindle. The winding handle is a hard rubber and is intact at present. It does have some crazing which is a sign that it is becoming brittle. The bail are is plated and most of that plating has been lost. The spool is made of plastic and the tensioner is a tri-star alloy. There is a knob on the left hand side beneath the handle mount which allows the ratchet to be applied. On the non handle side you will find the brass plate bearing Alcedo ... moreWoodpecker and Model Number. This side plate further details the fact that the reel was Made in Italy. Patent- Matr 64049. The 404 are part of the casting but what I believe to be a 6 and the 9 appear to be hand stamped. This may therefore be the reel number rather than the Patent number. Also on the Side Plate is the cast logo ERIE 2C. I do not think the bail arm spring is a great problem to overcome but you need to be aware of the problem. If you ave any questions. Vintage Allcocks Ambidex 'De-Luxe' Fixed Spool Reel + Spare Spool.
This is a very good example of the seldom seen Allcocks Ambidex. Deluxe, Fixed Spool Reel. The reel comes complete with its correct spare spool. The reel is named the Am idex because it can be converted to left or right handed use by transferring the handle from one side of the body to the other. The reel is used and shows signs of that honest use on the underside of the foot where the reel seat rings have been pushed home and on the base at the heel of the body. Please see the pictures. The handle is currently quite stiff to turn. This is because the reel has not been used for some years and the grease inside the mechanism has congealed. I have chosen not to open the reel up to clean and replace the grease as I would prefer to do this in my own way if I were buying the reel. This is is the Winfield Young Angler II. From Woolworths in the 1970's fixed spool reel. Perhaps for those nostalgic for the trip to town on a Saturday morning armed with Pocket Money. The reel works a little stiffly. With the crash bail arm, but appears to function including the on/off check/anti-reverse.
