Here is an old Vintage block leather reel case by the maker Farlow's of the Strand London i have put one of my 4" perfects into it and it fits really good so it will take up to a 4" reel all the stiching is good as is the buckle. I think there should be a slot at one side but this has been taken out probably to fit a wider spool reel at some time. Sold with no reserve.

At cost because there is no evidence of one ever being fitted. Because it would of had a grove cut out and fixed to the back inner drum by a pin the same as the dup check springs e tc the reel is in perfect working order in every way. The drag has had minor use. But is fine no wear, there is not one bit of wear on the spindle or the bush, the check is very strong and positive, the handle is fine, and full brass foot, And a duplicated check. Size 3.7/8 inch. Vintage Farlows Cobra Fly Reel. Wide drum version This auction is for a vintage.Fly reel, The Cobra, by C Farlow& Co Ltd, London,England. The reel has a 3 1/2 inch diameter spool. And has a wide approx, 1 3/16 inch width to the spool. Overall the condition of the reel is good. The reel works very well. Turning smoothly with no apparent restriction. Constant rachet,there is an adjustable drag control on the rim of the reel. The spool release lever is a little stiff, but the reel does need a clean and lubrication to remove some ingrained grease residue,and some line residue from the spool itself. The brown finish to the frame is good.A little loss of finish generally to the edges,and the residue of a sticky label to remove where an owner labelled the line strength loaded onto the spool. The finish of the spool itself is good. With only ... morea light loss of finish in patches. The main finish loss being from the small spool release disc in the centre of the spool, and loss from the foot of the reel. Overall though appearance is good. The back of the reel is inscribed. Cobra 3 1/2" W and Farlows London. The line guide on the edge of the reel has the'Hand holding fish on line' Farlows logo. Internal condition of the reel is very good. This particular example is desgned to clamp to a table or bench and was used to dry silk fly line. To prevent it from rotting on the reel. Condition is excellent- apart from being a little grubby. There is absolutely no damage and little or no evidence of wear. The dryer expands to a maximum diameter of 9 1/2" 24cms) Once clamped to a tabletop the winder spins the dryer perfectly. The alloy frame folds for storage. So takes up very little space. The brass spindle and winding handle are in excellent condition, as is the clamp and Bone winder. A wonderful early Block Leather Reel Case. Really great for housing your Vintage or Modern quality salmon reel. There is a fair age to this case 70 to 90 years old? I am not sure! There is no makers name on case. But quality equal to any Hardy or Farlow's. The case can hold a 4inch to 4 1/4 reel. Case in great shape with no stiching damage and strap complete! This case has the useful addition of a carrying handle! A previous owner has inscribed it' Woody' on sides and' Brags' under tying strap. This is not at all intrusive. Vintage farlows J.W. Young new zeland B.W.P. fly reel
Here is another treasure that's hard to come by a FARLOWS J.W. YOUNG BUILT NEW ZELAND B.W.P. which stands for Major B.W. Powlett who was a well known angler. The Major designed a wedge drag system for a fly reel and the patent was issued in 1936 in NEW ZELAND. This is a well made fly reel in excellent working condition click and pawl drag system that is set up for right handed but can be used left handed just by flipping your line. The slide drag works great and has a strong check and un filed reel foot. Its 3 1/2 inches in diameter and the center spool has the cork inserts for making the arbor bigger for a quicker line retrieve with the stubby reel handle is quite nice and the center screw for access makes working on this reel quite easy other then just the patena from use this reel is in excellent condition for a new zeland reel. Its ... moremade of a good alloy with a bright finnish and brass fittings also has the holdfast logo and trade mark along with the B.W.P. New Zeland patent for Farlows of London. This is a great reel that's a pleasure to fish and the drag system is easy to use even while fighting a large brown so good luck. It also has the holdfast logo on the back.

Vintage C. Farlows Co The Elf Split Cane Bamboo Fly Rod w/ 2 Tips 4-5 WT London
This is a Vintage Farlow's Co. The Elf" Split Cane Bamboo fly rod. It was made by C. Farlow Co. In London. I don't know what year it was built. But it looks like it was never fished and is in excellent condition. The serial# on the but is 33672. The fly rod comes with 2 tip sections. The rod is a 4-5 WT and measures 6'6" in total length. There are 1 ring guide and 1 loop guide on the butt section, and each tip section has 6 loop guides plus the tip. All the guides and loop tip guides are perfect. The ferrule's are perfect and they slide into the main rod section with ease and has a snug fit. The cork handle is nice and clean with No imperfections whatsoever. All the guides line up nicely when the tips are attached. The wrapping is nice and perfect. There is a hook keeper ring and perfect. The rod itself is nice and ... moreclean.
