This Ambassadeur is all set. Ready to fish and works. Has a well working levelwind. Good cranking with a solid anti-reverse. H as a good freespool mode with dual manual backlash controls and air-brakes. Has a good working drag. And an well working clutch which dis-engages immediately on first crank. Also the line run clicker works well, tics as line is peeling out so you don't crank against a hard running fish. Another most reluctant sale but needs must. From my personal collection. Up for auction is this rare Abu Ambassadeur 5000 4 screw fat black arbour model in good condition. The smooth foot number is 163659. There were very few 4 screw 5000 reels sold with this type of spool hence this reel is quite a rare find and comes complete with original case, paperwork, tube with parts and oil tube which is almost empty. The reel shows some light wear and tear and the right plate is a little faded which I have tried to show in the pictures. That said, I would say the reel is in good to very good used condition and it's in perfect working order. Starting at a very low starting price, I will not end the auction early and there is no buy it now so please don't ask. Rare Abu Ambassadeur 5000c 4 screw model. foot number 34686. Rare. Vintage ambassadeur 5000c, 4 screw version. foot number 34686. a super chance to add to your vintage reel collection here with this very early ambassadeur dating from the 1960's. Superb working order. Still a great smooth reel to fish with but probably destined for the cabinet. Lovely chrome sits well against the black side plates and handle, smooth clutch and tough gearing allow you to play your catch, whilst the stainless bearings allow for some smooth casting. Dual tension control aids casting too whatever the conditions or lure size. The chrome is in very good clean condition, the plates have had scattered wear sympathetically touched in to avoid future issues. Once again a great reel to fish or collect.
