SCARCE 2 1/4" Vintage / Antique Brass 'ENRIGHT & SON' Platewind Fishing Reel.
This is another very old Vintage/ Antique brass 2 1/4" ENRIGHT& SONS' platewind fishing reel. It is clearly stamped on the front plate with the maker's name; ENRIGHT& SON- CASTLE CONNELL' This particular reel dates back to around pre 1880(could be earlier) After this date they stamped their name within an oval logo. Enright& Son' can be found in Phil Waller's book; Fishing Reels' Collecting for all' Vol. 1 pages 39. The reel turns very smoothly with no rubbing. The back plate has the oil hole for servicing the reel. There is a very slight ding to the edge of the back plate which can hardly be seen. The foot is in excellent condition and has the cut away design of that early era. The is no corrosion or pitting to the reel. The handle/knob is in excellent condition with no splits or cracks. Vintage Boys Fishing Reel. Wooden Strap Back, 2 1/4". Riveted Foot
This is a good example of a small Wooden Boys Fishing Reel. The reel measures 2 1/4" in diameter and has a wooden spool and back plate. The unusual thing about this reel is the amount of detail which has gone into its instruction. The reel has a steel strap back with a separate brass foot or reel seat which has been riveted to the metal of the strap back. The reel is fitted with twin winding handles which are made of brass and then painted. The locking nut is also brass. The reel does not have a ratchet. The reel spins well but could do with taking apart and oiling to improve its spin rate. There are no names on the reel. If you have any questions please get in touch.

Vintage Edge Elite, 4 1/2" Centrepin Fishing Reel.
This is an excellent example of the'Edge Elite' Centrepin or Trotting Fishing Reel. The reel measures 4 1/2" in diameter and is in excellent working order. The reel spins smoothly and there is no undue wobble on the spindle. It measures 1 5/8" from edge to edge with a spool gape of 1 1/16" which is fairly wide for a centrepin. The spool is ventilated and has its cross bar set fairly close to the rims of the spool making for a healthy line retrieve. The reel is fitted with a selective ratchet which is working effectively. If you are looking for a good reel to use then you could do a lot worse than this reel. As you can see from the bacl plate there is some loss of finish to the black coating but this is from honest use rather than abuse. The reel is a good example of its type and would not be a bad collectors piece.

VINTAGE BRASS 3 1/4 INCH FISHING REEL This collectable vintage reel is in good condition for its age. It is quite tarnished with a lightly pitted area near the engraving(see last Photo) There is a very small bruise/dent at 2 o'clock(with foot at 6) on the outer rim on the handle side and a few marks around the handle. Please use the photos provided to help you judge the general condition. The reel spins freely and has a nice positive click. The foot is also in very good order. It would make a nice project for someone to polish up.

Here we have for auction a 4" unnamed Heatons Nottingham fishing reel in a beautiful condition complete with beautiful bulbos emerald green handles set on petite brass plates. Large brass butterfly spool nut, brass flange to the spool and lined backplate, copper brass calliper and steel pawl which is always a sign of a quality made reel. This quality reel has a strong optional check that when switched over sounds a nice firm click, with the check off the spool turns nice& smooth on the turn and one good spin will see the spool return many revolutions with absolutely no wobble! I have 5 old vintage 1940/ 50's Alvey's(4) 1 large Jarvis walker spinning reel all fishing reels in working condition. It is part of a collection. There is 1 alvey rosewood spool chome backed 650/ A3/ 7. 1 Alvey Bakelite& chrome backed 550 Reel, Fibreglass Alvey 650/ A5/ 7 surf champion reel spool has small repair but still OK& working, 1 Alvey rosewood spool& chrome back 500/ A3 reel. The other reel is a large Jarvis walker X 7500 spinning surf reel. All reels need a small clean but this is how they were found but all work, 2 reels have 1 handle missing as per photo's which forms part of my description. A great collection of 5 old vintage sidecast fishing reels. A good collectors reels or for use. I do combine postage where possible. thankyou for looking

for sale here is a very good litle used orvis"salmon" salmon fly reel. Rarely seen large capacity early model, 4 + 1/8ths" size, 1.25" wide drum model, single screw drum release with orvis cap, left or right wind, counterbalanced handle, rear tension, very good and clean example with virtually all paint finish as can be seen, mechanically excellent with very good strong check, straight unfiled alloy foot, quite a rare reel this one and very similar to the scientific anglers system 2 style disc drag, which in my opinion is one of the best drags ever designed. please see my other listings of hardy and other vintage fishing items this week.items will be posted as soon as paid, i dont mark individual items as despatched because they are always posted right away

1930's Vintage Alvey Cedar & Chrome Spool Star Drag 4 1/2" Fishing Reel
I have a 1930's RARE vintage cedar Spool with chrome backing plate inside chrome over brass backing plate& Back Plate with Brass ratchet buttons on top at sides. It is 4 1/2" ALVEY Star Drag fishing reel in good working condition(except it needs the spring to operate the drag& ratchet which are complete but need the springs. The cedar spool is attached to the chrome over brass backing as per photo's which forms part of my description. The chrome will clean up very easily as it is not pitting it still has some fish grime which has not been cleaned off properly when polished. These alvey fishing reels are getting very RARE to find especially in this condition. It has no cracks or splits to cedar spool. It is ready for your straight away use or more for the collector(just put in the 2 springs for perfect operation of fishing ... morereel. I do combine postage. thankyou for looking
