Vintage Antique Wooden Australian Fishing Reel 4 Inch Brass Starback Cedar This is a beautiful old cedar fishing reel with brass starback and fittings and with wooden handles. The reel is in beautiful used original condition with aged patina to brass fittings. The Australian cedar woodwork is of excellent quality and colour despite its obvious use and age. The reel turns over smoothly with a great clicking noise. One of the wooden handles is loose in its fitting but could be restored by those in the know. SCARCE 2 1/4" Vintage / Antique Brass 'ENRIGHT & SON' Platewind Fishing Reel.
This is another very old Vintage/ Antique brass 2 1/4" ENRIGHT& SONS' platewind fishing reel. It is clearly stamped on the front plate with the maker's name; ENRIGHT& SON- CASTLE CONNELL' This particular reel dates back to around pre 1880(could be earlier) After this date they stamped their name within an oval logo. Enright& Son' can be found in Phil Waller's book; Fishing Reels' Collecting for all' Vol. 1 pages 39. The reel turns very smoothly with no rubbing. The back plate has the oil hole for servicing the reel. There is a very slight ding to the edge of the back plate which can hardly be seen. The foot is in excellent condition and has the cut away design of that early era. The is no corrosion or pitting to the reel. The handle/knob is in excellent condition with no splits or cracks. Antique S Allcock Brass Centre Wooden Ratcheted 3" Fishing Reel
Antique S. Allcocks ratchet. Wooden and brass reel. Found this reel today in my Fathers shed. He no longer uses it so i've given it a polish and its offered here today. It has a 3 inch diameter. Brass is stamped as shown in the photos. Original boxwood handles with brass rings are in good condition. Ratchet works although the reel is a bit stiff to wind as expected. I'd imagine it needs some tlc after all these years. A nice fresh to the market find. Don't miss out! Offered at a low start price with no reserve so it will find its own value. Made of brass, and dating to the first half of the 20th century. The reel has a bakelite or vulcanised rubber? handle. An alloy foot, and is impressed to the front of the spool with'S ALLCOCK& CO Ld/ MAKERS/ REDDITCH ENGLAND' in an oval. The reel measures approx 2 3/8" in diameter and is just over 1" deep excluding the handle. Condition: The reel winds well both ways(there is no check) And has a nice patina. There is a small chip from the base of the handle(last photo) and the expected light marks& rubbing to the finish commensurate with age and use.

My father now old and frail is clearing out his study. And has a few Fishing related books etc.I can combine shipping with any book or other item he is selling. This is a very old fishing reel in Bakelite(we think) and brass. It has a brake stop lever but it doesn't work so we think something is missing. Probably a spring to pull the brake stop into position. Otherwise it is a lovely old reel without damage or chips. Antique/ Vintage Mahogany. Brass, Aluminium Fishing Reel 7.5 cm across This is a mahogany. Brass and aluminium fishing reel, maker unknown. It has a lever at the side to turn the click ratchet on and off. I don't recall seeeing one of this type with an aluminium sheet attachment to the rod before. But it seems original. Aluminium was a pretty expensive metal before about 1900 so possibly this reel dates to the 1920s 0r 1930s. No makers mark. Size: about 7.5 cm in diameter(3 inches) Weight: 123 grammes Condition: as seen in pictures- needs a clean. Everything works. There is one small screw missing that holds the aluminium cross plate to the back of the reel. And the ratchet lever is threaded at the end so probably originally has a knob on the end, now gone. Nice little 2 1/2" Brass reel as seen in photos the handle is missing and it has play due to the brass hole now being slightly oval but the ratchet sounds and feels sweet.I have cleaned the face plate looking for a makers mark but apart from that it remains untouched and still has its period line. 2 Antique Small Brass Fly Fishing Reels. Pape Newcastle On Tyne& Another. 2 super antique fishing reels. One by Pape of Newcastle on Tyne, the other, very similar, is unmarked. Both excellent quality and nicely made in brass. Pape reel measures 2" across and the second reel is 2 1/4" Both are in good condition. The Pape reel winds smoothly. It has a couple of small dints to the outside edge of the case. Which don't affect it when used. Here we have a very collectable vintage fishing reel made of wood- possibly mahogany- with brass fittings and what looks like bakelite or some form of hard. Early plastic. I have very little knowledge about reels- sorry- so hopefully all you fishing reel collectors out there will know what you are looking at! There is no name or any kind of identifying marks on the reel that measures 4 1/2 inches in diameter. It is in good, used condition- has been varnished but has lost a little of this at the edges.
