VINTAGE HEDDON HIGH QUALITY 3 1/2" FLY REEL COMPLETE WITH BOX- Super Condition
Here we have a really nice vintage. All original, high quality 3 1/2 inch Heddon fly reel, complete with its original box. It is made by Heddon but this is not marked on the reel itself. It is very similar to a Hardy Bros. Marquis" 7 fly fishing reel. From what I can gather, this reel dates back to the late 1960's or early 1970's. I believe it is made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy. The drum is ventilated with three sets of holes. It has a tension adjustment on the edge of the frame, again similar to some of the older Hardy reels. As for condition. It is as found. The pics show the physical condition of the reel more accurately than I can describe it, however I will do my best. There are no chips, cracks, repairs or previous owner's initials on the reel. There is no surface rust or pitting anywhere however the aluminum ... morehas tarnished over the years. There are no missing parts; all parts are original as far as I can tell. The drum seems to have just the right amount of play without being loose and there is no wobble. It is extremely clean, and ready to use. This really nice vintage, all original, high quality 3 1/2 inch Heddon fly reel, complete with its original box shows minimal ware for its age. It is in overall excellent condition and would make a ideal addition to anyone's fly fishing gear. I'm sure it would be servicable for many more years to come. This is a beautiful reel that I just don't fish with any more. So this is your chance. It has a few cosmetic dings on it and I did my best to get them in the close-ups, but the reel works perfectly.
