Made in California and machined from bar-stock aluminum, anodized finish and terrific stop a train disc drag systems make Galvan reels sought after by experienced anglers. This R8-LT is for a 7. 8 or 9 weight line or a 5 to 7 weight switch rod. Welcome to our on-line garage sale! I'm retired and after a number of years away from Ebay. My wife and I decided to sell our unwanted and/ or no longer used items here. This sale is for a GALVAN 3.25" Fly Reel spooled with WF4F line. I've had this reel for 10 years or so and fished it 3 or 4 times for trout on the Big Thompson River in Colorado and maybe once for panfish here in Illinois. It is in excellent unblemished condition. I've looked it over and can not find a mark on it. It is spooled with WF4 Floating line. Probably Scientific Anglers, as that it what I usually spooled my reels with. The line is still in very good condition. I take care of my fishing gear, clean it after each use, and put conditioner on the line. That said, the reel and line have been in their cloth pouch on a shelf in my den for a number of years ... morebut the line should still give a few good years of service if cared for and I'm sure the reel will be around to pass down to your grandchildren. I'm sorry that I do not have the model number for this reel. I do not see it indicated anywhere on the reel, nor can I find the box. It is a beautiful reel with a very light clicker and infinite drag. Spool is released by the stainless steel button on the front center of the reel. This is a Galvan Standard Fly reel. Purchased in a bulk buy of fly reels and other gear at an estate auction. To be on the safe side I classified this reel as used. But only under bright light can you see slight scratches on the edge of the spool and the front edge of one of the legs of the saddle. Other than those blemishes I can not see any other signs of use. But it was probably mounted on a rod at some time. I see no signs that any backing or fly line was ever installed. It is currently in a left handed retrieve direction. But can be converted to right handed very easily. It has the Galvan logo on the spool quick release button. It is the reel only with black reel bag. As no box or instructions were included.
