It has only been fished on a couple of occasions and is in excellent condition except for some scratches as seen in the third photo. This reel is simply one of the best spring and pawl reels on the market and very few come up for auction. The reel is extremely smooth and just purrs with out-going line. Currently it is set for LHR, but can be changed to RHR very easily. Manual is on the web. A neoprene case is included with the reel. Some specs are the following: 5/6 reel. Up for auction is a classic CFO II(2) click and pawl with a leather case(I don't think its the original leather case) with rivets. The reel is already loaded with backing and 1 wt line. The numbering on the reel looks like a III but is actually a CFO II(2) based on the measurement of the diameter on the spool(see picture 12 from ad in a 1975 Orvis Catalogue) This reel was made in England by Hardy. This reel has been used and still has a lot of life left in it. As you can in the pictures there is a piece of metal missing in the spool(picture 7) This spool is rubbing a on the frame as you can see in pictures 10 and 11. Up for auction is a grey Made in England. CFO I(1) click and pawl with the original leather case and backing. This reel was barely used and is in perfect working order. The only issue I see with this reel is some minor handling marks on the reel as shown in the pictures. I am starting this auction at $175(buyer pays $10 shipping) I would consider this reel in great with the exceptions of the minor handling marks which does not affect the function of this reel. There are no warps in the reel or spool. The spool fits tight onto the reel possibly due to lack of use. Judging from the wear inside the spool rim I really don't think this reel small reel has been broken in. Older(purchased in 1998) used Cabelas Cahill 2 Click- Pawl Drag Fly reel. Used. With spare spool. This reel works very well, however it is not cosmetically perfect. Note, if you are not familiar with a Pawl- Drag, it's function is mainly to keep line from rolling off the reel, it's not intended to stop a fish.
