The reel has been used only a very few times and is in excellent condition. A very close inspection will reveal a very minor, almost imperceptible loss of finish on the rear of the reel foot(see last photo) otherwise, I would describe the reel's condition as mint. The reel is loaded with 20# dacron backing. For the collector BUT you could confidently stop a big striper or a tarpon or a dolphin with it today. It compares favorably with any modern big game reel by Orvis. Hardy, Abel, Seamaster and others. A few words about the two really nice features of this reel. ANTIREVERSE which means that THE HANDLE DOES NOT TURN when a fish is taking line. This is an unusual Fin Nor reel made in the later days of their manufacturing period. It does have double pawls.
