They kept all the positives of the original: strong and rugged, smooth and reliable drag, lightweight build and a large arbor spool. They added their very durable Hard Alox finish to the reels along with a few cosmetic changes to reel’s appearance. This is the older model Velocity 1 reel.the small one, not the larger models sold over the past couple years. Small diameter reel with a mid-arbor. This is a perfect reel for your small, light weight rods. The reel and spare spools are loaded with backing and Royal Wulff fly lines, all in excellent condition.there are 2wt, 3wt and 4wt WF lines on these. I think these items are about 3-4 years old.I have had them since new(I am a Lamson dealer) but I cannot recall exactly when I got them. I would say a comparable reel now would be the new Guru 1. Greetings fly fishers! I'm selling my Lamson Velocity(size 2. For size 5/6 fly lines) fly reel and extra spool. Both the reel and spool come with a Lamson neoprene padded cover. The reel and spool are in very good condition with minimal scuffs. One spool has a mist green WF5 Rio fly line(I think it is Rio Gold, but not positive) that is in reasonable condition. The other spool will be shipped empty(despite the line shown in the picture) This reel has a super smooth drag that has micro-fine adjustment even in the light drag range which sets it apart from most reels in its class(most I've tried have only a couple of drag settings in the light drag range. Which seems to be the most useful range for trout fishing on a 5/6 wt line and light tippet) Line is currently setup for left hand retrieve. But reel can easily be changed for right ... morehand retrieve(although you'll have to re-spool the line for right hand if needed) The spool is removed by pulling it straight off the spindle.the spool snaps securely into place onto the spindle and requires a firm"pop" to remove it. I used this for about 1/3 a summer salmon fishing in AK a few years ago after my Sage reel suffered an accident( I will be listing it shortly) While this reel did haul in plenty of salmon and arm length trout it still looks and runs like new. Super smooth action. A joy to use! Includes backing and float line(both in fine shape too) Neoprene case and original box. This set up has been resting quietly in my hall closet for 3 years. This auction is for a hardly used Lamson Velocity 1 reel and spool. These are perfect for 2 and 3 weighted rods and line. The both spools have backing and flyline. I believe both lines are WF3F. I'm not sure on the brand of flyline but they have hardly been used and are in excellent condition. The spool not on the reel has never been casted and is brand new. There is one minor ding in the reel as noted in the picture and both reels are without blemish or damage. Both pouches are included. The reel was over $200.00 new and the spool was about $100.
