Redington Rise 2 Reel 9/10wt Saltwater Redfish Tarpon Snook Bonefish Fly Fishing
You are looking at a used Redington Rise 2 fly fishing reel. It is for 8/9/10 wt lines and meant for bigger types of fish. The reel is the mantis green color. And comes with 30 lb backing and what I believe is a 10wt weight forward line. I bought the reel and line from a guy who was closing his fly shop and this was a store display. It was never fished before I bought it and I have fished it probably 5 times, though I now need to sell it to pay some bills. It is in good condition over all, and fishes very well, I've used it in saltwater but very thoroughly cleaned it every time. What can be said about the Billy Pate anti reverse series of saltwater fly reels. Especially the Tarpon. It is, and has been for years, the quintessential big game saltwater fly reel. This reel has got excellent mojo on it having subdued many Tarpon in the Florida Keys. It is in excellent plus condition with only the tiniest bit of boat rash on the bottom of the right side. CONDITION USED– I would further classify this reel as being in VERY GOOD condition. This reel has been used. But it has been carefully cared for during and after each use. There are some scratches and marks in one place on the reel frame(See the last photo in the series) Additionally, there is an indication of use at one corner of the reel foot(See next-to-last photo in the series) The inside of the spool has been stained by salt water. It does not show enough for me to successfully photograph it. It does not in any way interphere with the proper operation of this reel. Mechanically, the reel seems to work just as it did when it first was put into service. The nylon reel cover has been marked with Magic Marker to identify the contents.
