It shows some wear from use with a couple of smudges on the center of the spool and a little rash but nothing serious. Mechanically it is also in very good condition with a smooth turning handle and a sensitive drag. The reel can be converted from left hand wind to right hand wind by following the directions on the insert. The reel is spooled but I don’t know what kind of line and how much there is of it. The case is in very good condition and it is clean inside. The paperwork was found folded in the case with the reel so the corners are a little curled. Hardy Cascapedia Mk III 8/9 Fly Fishing Reel Excellent Condition
This Cascapedia Mark III has done light duty on local steelhead rivers. Always in its case and well cared for, but I'm ready to move up the Hardy foodchain and have to let it go. You'll see from the photos this reel is pretty much mint, and I've got the neoprene case and original packaging with warranty card. Set up for Left Hand Retrieve. But the included instructions let you know how to change it. I really. Really dig the sound of this reel, and honestly, you can't beat its drag to put the brakes on a raging sea-run fish. I was a little worried about the capacity of this reel, but I was able to fit about 100 yards of#20 backing, an Airflo ridge running line and a Airflo Skagit Compact 540gr. with just enough room. For longer-belly stuff, it really feels right with an Airflo Delta or would even take a lighter(maybe 6/7) Windcutter. ... moreThe best part of this reel is how solidly its built. It makes a great sound on the outgoing click. Especially when you have a hot fish on. Crank down the drag if you need, but this drag is so seriously tough that you could probably slow down any type of fish with it.
