This reel is in very good condition but does have a number of minor ... morescratches on the gold side of the reel. Please see pics. However, this is a workhorse of a reel and is mechanically excellent. Included is the original box with original reel pouch. Pouch is in excellent condition. Box nearly so. Also included is backing and a fly line. I don't know what weight the fly line is. Probably an 8 floating. Instructions/parts list sheet also included. I am not sure but I believe this reel is currently around $500 new. I am not sure how old this is but the serial number is U469. Anti-reverse means the handle does not spin when a fish is taking out line. With most fly reels. Including Tibor's other reels, the handle spins backwards as a fish is pulling drag. This means you can keep reeling when a fish is taking drag, keeping on the drag pressure without slack, and your knuckles won't be(potentially) injured by a spinning handle. Although eBay allows a seller to choose a 14 day return policy. I chose to decline that and instead offer a 3 day return. If not satisfied I will accept a return if the return ship date is within 3 days of receipt. Buyer must pay return shipping and insurance. Condition of reel must be the same as when I shipped it. For auction is a used Billy Pate Marlin anti-reverse fly reel. It is a right handed model. The reel was purchased new and has been in my possession for several years. It is in excellent condition. I have carefully maintained this reel and it was always thoroughly rinsed. Dried and lubricated after every fishing trip. The mechanics are sound. The few cosmetic flaws are mostly on the back plate around the rim. These can be seen by carefully examining the photographs. The listing includes the factory neoprene cover, but does not include the factory box. The spool diameter is 4.25 inches and it is 2.25 inches wide. The reel weighs 15+ ounces un-lined and 20.5 ounces lined. The line consisted of 600 yards of 30lb braided line. A shooting line and a T14 head. I decided to remove the lines because one of the last fish caught buried the backing at ... moreabout 100 yards. Hint to buyer: When you reline this reel have the backing put on mechanically. I originally wound it on by hand and that was a real job. If you want to tackle a tuna. Tarpon, wahoo, billfish or any of the other bruiser species this is one of the best reels available. Many folks would be willing to pay more for an Anti-reverse model than a Direct Drive model. I am a disabled Veteran. A member of and volunteer instructor for the Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Program at the Long Beach Casting Club in Long Beach, CA. A long time club member recently gave to our project director a large lot of fly fishing gear to sell to generate funds for our program. I'm tasked with selling the items. Tibor Billy Pate Bonefish Anti-Reverse Fly Fishing Reel 7-9 Wt
This is a Billy Pate Tibor Bonefish fly fishing reel in anti-reverse with right hand retrieve. I bought it thinking I would use it for steelhead. But at this point don't need it. They are designed for 7, 8, or 9 weight lines with appropriate backing. The anti-reverse is designed to protect those knuckles during fast runs from fish like the Bonefish it is named for. It is in very good used condition with some very minor rim rash that I tried to show in the second to last photo. There is also some light scratching on the back which is shown in the photo of the back(last photo) Comes with factory neoprene case which is in pretty good shape with the camoflague lining. These are extremely high quality reels that will outlast most fisherman, and are made in the USA. Retail new is $530 get it here for a LOT less. Good luck and tight lines!

I purchased this reel new in the early 1990's and fished with it only a few times. The condition of the reel shows no wear and only a few minor scratches on the gold finish. That non-engraved flat side looks simply stunning in person. I bought this reel brand new and it has been impeccably cared for. Never used in salt water. Lawn cast only. The Marlin is a 4 1/2" diameter reel by 2 1/4" wide. The inside spool width is 1 1/4" It holds a 12 to 15wt line and 600 to 850 yards of backing. It weighs 15oz. While the reel is virtually unused and in excellent condition there are a couple of very tiny scratches on it. They're very hard to even see. But I wanted to mention them. They are extremely minor and this reel will probably show more wear as it should last a few hundred more years. Comes with neoprene pouch. Spool removal tool, instructions, box ... moreand warranty card. This is one of the best reels ever made.

This is an awesome reel. No fish too big for this reel! Black on black. Backing included. Only been used twice. You would have to look closely to even see the faint hairline scratches. I would keep it but I'm not going off-shore fishing for marlin or tarpons or anything that would even come close to getting on this reel so I'd rather get something a bit smaller.
