All items, from the smallest to the largest, are crafted to precise standards and made from the highest quality materials. Manufacturing is done by hand, not cast or stamped out en masse, but created one at a time. Machining is done using state-of-the-art CNC machines. Ari has chosen to use the finest materials available including aircraft grade 6060-T6 aluminum, high nickel content stainless steel and exotic titanium. All aluminum parts are carefully anodized to prevent corrosion under the most demanding conditions. Because mechanical strength requireres a certain amount of material, an ATH reel is not the lightest. However by clever design, the weight is held within comfortable limits. ATH Design AR small is an Ari original that does not feature his famous drag. Though called an anti-reverse. A better term might be a slip-spool design. The spool is allowed to slip in the frame and there is an adjustment to control the ease of slippage, much like the Loop Traditinal Model. The neat thing is that it is so simple that there is virtually nothing that can go wrong. The reel features the canted forward foot design and comes in a gorgeous silver finish and was available for only one year. Indeed. I have used them myself and found them very reliable– I still keep one as a spare in my tackle box! Intrepid made two versions of the Rimfly reel with this being the later Regular model c1970/80 with a 3½ inch diameter spool and weighs 200 grams when loaded with line. It is in good working condition. Though has had some of the dark grey enamel worn away around the rims. The black bakelite handle, on the front, is in good nick. It has a permanent ratchet, that works in both directions, which makes a very satisfying noise when a fish strips line of the reel at speed! The interior ... moreshows little sign of wear but have given it a good service anyway with everything in good working order. The spool is extracted by depressing a small lever on the edge of the centre on the front of the reel. And withdrawing. It is loaded with a sinking line, that appears in pretty good condition, of about weight 6/7. Please see my photographs. The foot(that attaches the reel to the rod) is excellent with no breakages or lateral movement. It is a reliable reel- ideal for heavy use or for a back-up. Tight lines! BFR RimFly 75 FLY REEL + WF7F Line This reel has had little use and is considered by many to be one of the best value reels made. It is smooth and tight. Strongly made and will last for years. The reel measures 3 1/2ins. in diameter with a spool width of 3/4in. and will take an 8wt. line with adequate backing. The body and spool are made primarily of metal with some composite parts and the reel can be set up for either left or right hand winding. The reel is loaded with a decent 7wt floating line.

A label on the inside(gear side) of the spool has"Cortland/ 333HT/ WF5F/ Flt. Rocket" a label on back of the body has"Cortland/ Made in England" A label inside the pole bracket has"S" Spool is wound with neon yellow floating fly line on top of what appears to be a different line(off-white color) at the center of the spool. We've not unwound the lines. So we do not know the lengths. Reel's body has light edge wear in the finish, but no damage. Spool turns smoothly in the body, and the 2 pawls inside the body can be set for"click" or"free" operation. This reel will serve you well ... moreon your fishing trips.
